Ahh it's out!!🤩 Deniz finds new functions for MLL3/4 (KMT2C/D) and H3K4me1 in regulating DNA replication timing and origin activity in ESCs. My unused CUT&Tag data from my PhD found its forever home-- and it was recycled by Deniz in such a brilliant fashion to make these discoveries!! 🥹

How has native RNA sequencing contributed to epitranscriptomic research? This is one of the main questions we addressed in our recent review with @gdiensthuber.bsky.social Now live! authors.elsevier.com/a/1kS2f3vVUP...

With pleasure we share our preprint reporting robust and cost-effective expansion of naive human Pluripotent Stem Cells without feeder cells. A fantastic collaborative effort with @leeboratory.bsky.social @jzylicz.bsky.social @pasquelab.bsky.social and Nicolas Rivron. tinyurl.com/5n6z9rt9

Tour de force! @metorrespadilla.bsky.social & team develop Smart-seq+5′ to map TSS in single embryos with unprecedented res revealing plethora of TE-driven transcripts in 5 mammal species. Some surprisingly old & conserved. Treasure trove of new biology for yrs to come! www.cell.com/cell/fulltex...

I am thrilled to share our latest work, released today 🤩 www-nature-com.insb.bib.cnrs.fr/articles/s41... It results from years of hard work by the team and long-time collaborators, with special thanks to PhD student Clara Roidor and collaborator Laurène Syx.

Couldn't agree more with Paul Nurse that “Research institutes and units play a unique, beneficial role in the UK’s RDI landscape and this sector should be expanded....” So the MRC should rethink their regressive decision to close MRC Units. www.science.org/content/arti...

First #bluetorial. 🎉🎉 We’re very happy to share our latest biorxiv #preprint, just in time before the holiday season. We explored how transposable elements (TEs) diversify eukaryotic proteomes and found a cool case in nematode F-box genes. #TEsky #evosky #Celegans Short 🧵 with highlights.

www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... Our study published today on #bioRxiv describe the identification of a deaminase that converts 5mC to T, enabling direct sequencing of the human methylome and genome. This achievement was made possible through a collaborative effort across all departments at #NEB.

📢 Preprint! How does the environment of a father before conception influence offspring? Even more, how do paternal genetics & ages interact with exposures to affect F1 outcome? We tested this systematically, with intriguing findings & some cautionary tales🧵... www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

One enhancer can activate two endogenous genes simultaneously and across a TAD Boundary. Check out our new preprint. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Bluesky being added to altmetrics? That’ll be excellent!

Great hearing from Patrick Hsu this morning in GIS, A*STAR, on Bridge RNAs, AI and the Arc Institute model. Hope there'll be room for a philanthropic centrally-funded bio research institute in Singapore one day!
