En japonés es prácticamente lo mismo: 世間知らず (sekenshirazu), donde 世間 es mundo y 知らず es la forma negativa de 知る(shiru), saber o conocer. Alguien sekenshirazu es alguien que, literalmente, "no conoce el mundo". Tiene el significado de "simple", "inocente", "ingenuo" o "candoroso".
