For here, Am I sitting in a tin can?

Was working in a bookstore in Manhattan, 1994. Kevin Bacon knocked over one of the books on the display table; I helped put it back, he self-deprecatingly commented on his own clumsiness. "6 degrees" wasn't a thing yet, but when it did come, I was ready.

El Cerrito way psyched, getting to sit at the grown-ups' table.

Some perspective, from an East Coaster who once visited Downtown LA: it's not a real downtown. It's more like a downtown-by-default.

Oh, hey, guess what? Exactly what the #2A was supposed to prevent, back when it was written, and done by the people who who claim to be both 2A supporters and originalists. Nice work, guys. www.msnbc.com/top-stories/...

FWIW, as a Philly kid who lived in the Bay Area in the late 90s, niners fans never felt like legit NFL fans to me.

Cunk, at least in small doses, is very very funny.

I guess the whole thing about being free because you don't have an army in the streets thing is dead there, too?

Not true. I see you're a luxury watch dealer. I'm also interested in watches. Let me show you how free and easy migration has allowed you to earn a living. 🧵

"Considérez les classes disponibles du tiers état... celles où une sorte d’aisance permet aux hommes de recevoir une éducation libérale, de cultiver leur raison, enfin de s’intéresser aux affaires publiques. Ces classes-là n’ont pas d’autre intérêt que celui du reste du peuple."

Paging Senator Ernst, please pick up the white courtesy phone...

One of the #2A's original goals - and a valid one - was to ensure civil authorities' control of the military. This administration has systematically attacked that principle.

Happy Trails, Ange. Didn't work out like I'd hoped, but glad your time with the team ended on a high note. #COYS www.bbc.com/sport/footba...

It's not like these kids were out there trying to walk along I-85. I'd've crossed this at that age, in all likelihood.

It's the June Fourth anniversary.

Ok, fellow academics. A lot of you know this, but I'll say it anyway: there are 2 keys to a productive summer: -a productive May; -a productive June. W/out those, you can still have a productive July, but it won't make up for May & June.

I want a US that is welcoming to people from other nations. Just, sure seems like there would be people who disagree with me on that, but who still don't want masked dudes dressed like soldiers walking around terrorizing everyone.

Periodic reminder that attacking Jewish people because they are Jewish, in places that are not Israel, is not "anti-Zionism." It's antisemitism and, if anything, pro-Zionism - making sure Jews feel unwelcome where they are.

My understanding has always been that guys who are into dating models aren't concerned with how smart they are.
