Aged 18 years and 176 days, Myles Lewis-Skelly is the youngest player in history to score on his senior England debut, surpassing Marcus Rashford's record of 18 years and 209 days vs. Australia in May 2016. [@optajoe.com]

Wesley Fofana stamped on Declan Rice, caught Trossard on the shin with his studs, hauled him down to stop a counter attack and scythed down Lewis-Skelly at the edge of the box. No bookings. But, when he threw a ball on the pitch, he was carded. Technicalities over player safety. Incompetence. #AFC

Liverpool out of all three cups in the span of 34 days. Tough run for them

How the hell has Fofana not been booked yet?

Fofana needs to be careful he’s on 5 yellows in this game

kinda funny for all the things that he could have gotten carded for, Fofana ended up getting carded for delaying the restart.

That's a deliberate stamp

Atletico Madrid's disallowed penalty. I slowed it down and still struggle to see the double tap. If you're disallowing that, then you really WANT to disallow it. Doesn't sit right with me. Pray for Arsenal.

I said to my gf earlier this had 1-0 to United written all over it...tedious.

Imma be honest, I know jack about keepering but it feels like Raya’s fault we go into half down 1. Frustrating once again because this run of games absolutely requires top performances at the back

HT: Really frustrating watch. United are not a serious team. They fall short in almost every area and we are not moving the ball quickly enough, or playing with enough precision in the final third to maximise the ACRES of space we're being given. That goal was entirely predictable. Wake up.

⚽️ 18': Timber ⚽️ 21': Nwaneri ⚽️ 31': Merino ⚽️ 47': Odegaard ⚽️ 48': Trossard ⚽️ 73': Odegaard ⚽️ 87': Calafiori It's a record away win in the Champions League for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's side are the first team in UCL history to score seven goals away from home in a knockout stage match.

It really is beyond ridiculous, isn’t it?

Not optimistic but would really like for Mateta injury to bring refereeing / PGMOL / IFAB to refocus priorities. 🔴Stop deprioritising violent conduct and serious foul play 🔴Stop focusing on nonsense nobody cares about 🔴Treat dangerous tackles around the head / face far more seriously.

This is a fun game so I'm gonna do some. Szo-Gakpo-Elliott

ICYMI yesterday, I sent out a Capital R 🚨 Reminder 🚨 that Arsenal do actually have a good attack when everyone isn't injured. That doesn't mean it's impossible to improve, but some of the slash-and-burn talk is incredibly prisoner-of-the-moment. Read here: www.cannonstats.com/p/reminder-a...

Lfc will be worthy league winners but this thing where they’re fully fit all season and play depleted teams every weeks is just incredible.

David Raya has been pretty awesome in goal this season. His distribution is also intriguing - passing percent isn't the highest, but plenty completed into the wide areas and he almost never goes long centrally.

Liverpool have now received more penalties (8) than Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United combined this season (7) in the Premier League.

As fans, we can get fucking silly with expectations of teenagers. Which makes it all the more shocking when players like Jude, Yamal, Saka, MLS, Nwaneri manage to exceed them. A lot of kids have touch — I just can’t really fathom their brains/composure.

It’s the hope that kills you.

I am sympathetic to the arguments that Arsenal's strategy on attacking depth was risky and not optimal. I have said that exactly. There is also no real practical way to cover for having your first-choice front 3 all injured plus a key player for depth and still not suffer a crisis

5 - This is the fifth time Arsenal have lost to Eddie Howe's Newcastle in all competitions under Mikel Arteta; only Pep Guardiola (9) and Jürgen Klopp (6) have beaten the Spaniard more in his time in charge of the Gunners. Thorn.

New graphic, an estimate of the distribution of goal scoring outcomes

Whatever your take on the last 2 windows, I think the club is really playing with fire. Everyone knew we needed attackers. Mikel has spoken about it. Arsenal briefed the media about it after the Bayern tie. Failing to find the player(s) in consecutive windows is hard to explain

Obviously something can still happen but quite disappointed at Arsenal failing to strengthen the attack again. I can understand wanting to keep our powder dry and why Nwaneri may have changed things. But we needed an attacker before the window. Then Saka and Jesus got injured. We're really short.

I pulled a list of tactical fouls to watch, and unfortunately they only served to make me more insane about delayed restarts. Three kicks after the whistle, including a kick away of the actually-set free-kick. For insult to injury, it's on Veltman. No card.

My head is absolutely gone. This season has been draining enough without these incompetent, attention seeking frauds dictacting more results for us. Every week I'm watching leg breaking challenges, elbows and studs on shins go unpunished - yet that's a red card. Fuck off.

GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE Michael Oliver is corrupt as fuck. That's never a red card.

That red card has left such a sour taste in my mouth. I really try to avoid referee conspiracy talk, but that's just another decision - in a season of shitty decisions - that get given against Arsenal and nobody else. It's not violent conduct, he's not denying a goalscoring opportunity. I'm done.

Whenever Saliba is out, you see Gabriel more clearly. a) such a boss, b) can ping it around better than he is given credit for, and c) subtly gives tough-to-handle balls in build-up, but you never notice when they are to Saliba

Bournemouth defeat in October my position was ‘unlikely.’ Saka injury moved it to ‘very unlikely.’ Think I have moved into the ‘it’s certainly over’ camp now.

Missed a load of presentable chances and got a big injury to an attacker. That’s the season really, isn’t it?

Don't think that could have gone worse. Out of the FA Cup, lost Gabriel Jesus to potentially serious injury, missed a load of chances, missed a penalty, played 30 mins of extra-time ahead of a North London derby, and the heartache of losing a penalty shoot-out. A disaster of a day.

Texas should wear maize and blue in their semifinal against Ohio State.

The sideline official raised his hand to denote the play was dead.
