while i am firmly against any prospect of 'pausing' relegation, i do think it's interesting that the WPLL are open to ideas which would significantly alter the structure of the two top tiers. there is a bit of fear in me now though that by tying the 'prize' of expanding the wsl in with the pause on

west ham benching some of their internationals who flew long distances of the break also makes sense to me, realistically the (a) game at arsenal isn't one that they expect to be season defining so i do agree it's sensible to take no risks and prioritise keeping the squad fit

so baffled by any reaction other than happiness at a kim little extension, like are you seriously trying to suggest parts of the fanbase wanted her in a retirement home at the end of this season?! she's a top pro, and you don't just go from starting every game to retired in the space of a year!

do think it's gone a little underappreciated how much her time at barca improved walsh's movement - if you watch her now she's constantly on the move after releasing a pass and does a ton of off-ball work to move the opposition press around

i think what i want for awfc squad refresh over summer is less of a mass exodus, and more that some bench players are moved on and we upgrade in a few positions that allows current starters to be used more as rotation players/impact subs - e.g. i'd be happy enough keeping foord and/or mead, i just -
