I don't think returning the 2020 model makes them the favorites. Especially with an older LeBron. The 2020 Lakers themself probably would not dominate the way that they did if playing today.

I think the league has changed since then tho. More teams are using that athleticism, defense, and size model, like Boston, OKC, and Houston. For the Lakers, Austin is a key figure, which limits the defensive ceiling. LeBron is also not the same player and can't carry the offense the way he used to.
