I’ve been in the pub with two Canadians this afternoon so am available for any election expert comment.

Four photos from the London Marathon, this morning. #LondonMarathon2025

Another cursèd memory of that event emerges from the subconscious: Jimmy Savile waving regally from the back of a passing flatbed truck before the runners came by 🤢

Wheelchairs!

The first year I watched the marathon, after I moved here, there were geezers standing outside this now-dead pub drinking Stellas, smoking fags and shouting abuse at the runners. I was genuinely shocked at the time.

London Marathon morning: one of the best days in my neighbourhood. Some years you have to prepare by applying sun cream, others you put on a Parka and thermals. It’s a sun cream event so far.

Wrexham fans might need to get a bit more thick-skinned when they’re in the Championship next season. #circus

Picture framer queued out of the doors, in boost to Rachel Reeves growth hopes, etc, etc.

In a bold statement of economic confidence—bravado, even!—I’m going to go and drop some prints off at the picture framers. The BoE are said to be monitoring the situation closely.

I remain convinced that TfL should be responsible for the foot tunnels now. Seems like the sort of thing a London-wide authority with expertise in infrastructure management would be better placed to do than our local council.

All of them?

I've gone and opened up my own shop now that I'm a proper artist and everything. Just one painting up there at the moment but it's a cracker. Cilla-tastic!

I’ve been got bang to rights here, tbf.

Stocked up with two cans of “session IPA” and an M&S ham sandwich for my Leeds-London train journey, just as St George would have done.

I think a lot of the “can’t believe people are using ChatGPT for search!” discourse underplays the fact that people are using it as an alternative to uber-SEO’d, ad-driven Google search, and it’s as much a reflection of how crap that experience is now as anything else.
