If people want less immigration from South America maybe America should stop destabilizing their governments, fucking up the environment, and extracting their resources. They want safe lives for their families. If they're willing to undergo that much hardship to come here they probably need to.

Fr. If people come here and commit a crime they'll be arrested like anyone else would be. The best way to prevent crime is to make sure people's needs are met. Not to bar people from immigrating to a land of immigrants.

I know what it's like to not be able to stay. To be driven from your home like that because the people there make you feel unsafe. Do what you need to do. What I said was directed more at the people who feel they can handle it.

And if they can't learn to see us as human they need to learn that we are here to stay and won't go quietly. That there are people in our communities that will stand with us. We need to stick together, queer people with each other and allies with us.

People who live in San Antonio need to get loud, raise hell. Allies need to stand with their gay community members. Use your privilege as someone that homophobes see as human to protect the people in your communities who are not afforded that same respect. Check in on your neighbors. Keep tabs.
