Tons of people without the financial or physical means to leave, who will be stuck here, with one less person to speak up for them. And what then, fuck them? Leave them to the wolves? At least I got mine? I, personally, don’t wanna live if it means abandoning my people. My friends. Fuck that.

I’m able-bodied and my gf and I have more than enough to live comfortably. And for a while I was of the same mind as you; I just wanted to leave and be safe and didn’t care whatever else happened. But I realized there are tons of people who can’t.

Why must you die on such a shitty hill. Why must you say this when the main targets of this ruling are literal children. Like yeah that 14 year old trans girl in Tennessee totally could escape but just doesn’t want to. Let alone people who physically can’t do this. Yes your take is privileged.

spineless. a trans woman could be lynched in front of you by Trump himself and you’d say he’s just doing it to distract the public. they hate trans people. this is one of their goals. this is not a byproduct or a distraction.

This is a country designed by and for the social majority. This is a country designed by and for slave masters. They’re owners. They own you.

Gorsuch and Roberts flip-flopped from Bostock. Crazy.

John Oliver mentioned in his piece on the ADF that Barrett was a frequent speaker at their Blackstone legal fellowship, and that when that was brought up at her confirmation hearing, she denied it was “indicative of any kind of discrimination based on anything.” yeah. right.

They could remove the provision in the BBB that strips Medicaid coverage for all trans healthcare at all ages, instead of pretending they haven’t heard about it. And they could say literally anything instead of calling the anti-trans hate campaign a “distraction from the real issues.”

You physically, genuinely can’t support the Harry Potter franchise without directly contributing to the ongoing hate campaign against trans rights.

“despite the author” meanwhile the author is using every one of her royalties to fund legal battles that end up stripping our rights piece by piece

They worked together with republicans to pass the CR to avoid a shutdown. They would rather a fascist Trump admin run rampant than allow the stock market to dip for even a second.

They actively stifled anybody who tried to react as well. They made Harris (and especially Walz) tone down their rhetoric and appeal rightward. And they kept AOC off the oversight committee after Harris lost. they’ve deliberately squandered what chances they’ve had to counteract gop fascism.

“If we just let them nibble our ears a bit it’ll solve everything”

the only way you get a platform like mcbride’s is by being spineless. by letting people walk on you. by letting donors decide your policy for you. it’s the ultimate pickme position: she’s literally asking the political establishment to pick her.

I’ve been wondering what he even means by ‘transgender for everybody.’ It feels like nonsense. Just a string of buzzwords to rile up his base.

Irdk why they can’t just keep it to themselves…

Idk, when will that be? What’s the point in getting rid of Trump if we replace him with another Obama or another Biden, someone who doesn’t fix the problems that caused Trump in the first place? I don’t think we can afford to put off talking about this anymore.
comment in response to post
Yeah that’s fair. Especially when it comes to people being sent to El Salvador and gitmo etc, like that isn’t deportation. That’s literally, definitionally, just imprisonment in a foreign concentration camp.
comment in response to post
I think his point is that you shouldn’t like him. They’re both war criminals who killed and deported hundreds of thousands of people by proxy. You can acknowledge the difference in the severity of two war criminals, without necessarily being on the side of one of them.

It’s pretty insulting in itself to allege that Edgar Allan Poe just really liked ravens and that any other depth he wrote into his work is just shitty teachers overthinking things. I’d be pretty insulted if someone argued, on my behalf, that there’s nothing to my art beyond the surface level.

mf ran on mass deportation. this is literally what he voted for!

they hate to see a trans girl

they’re never meeting the moment. they will ignore if not aid American fascism for the foreseeable future. They will watch you be sent to a death camp and will call it a distraction. And they will get rid of literally anyone who dares call out their collaborationism.

it’s been 5 years since George Floyd, and this exact thing happened then. Journalists were shot by police during those protests. People were trampled by horses too! Tens of thousands of ppl were met with tear gas and violence from the police for months. no citizen can do anything comparable to that

you are only allowed to observe and abhor the violence your state is carrying out. The minute you do even a modicum of what they do every minute of every day, they will enact violence on you too, and the public will say it was justified of them.

it’s so often portrayed as one or both being extra effeminate too, like wearing makeup or a dress or something. that would be so embarrassing for a man to do amirite???

The real complaint here is just that they aren’t able to ignore the fascism

The current liberal position isn’t just that Israel has a right to defend itself or exist but that it’s necessary for it to be a theocratic apartheid state. He gave the most unobjectionable response imaginable and it still wasn’t enough.

They keep bringing up this fucking ad, as if the response is “we need to prove we aren’t for they/them” instead of, obviously, “we stand for everyone.” they lost in 2024 because they clearly proved they don’t stand for everyone.

It’s so bold to admit that he aided and abetted war crimes like that too. Like Israel didn’t just commit them, he told people it wasn’t happening. For years. He covered it up. He was complicit.

your makeup is like inspiring to me. It makes me wanna try harder with my own lol

This is why a public option isn’t optimal as well. It doesn’t get rid of the problem: the profit motive. the fact that healthcare is a market. It simply introduces a new competitor to that market. It’s a half-measure.
