He must be because it's the only way he gets the National Guard.

Yeah, I'm coming around to understanding that the real fight is gonna look like a fight, not a protest with light law-breaking. Or maybe we stay under the radar and grow our gardens. I dunno.

Based on TikTok comments, it is.

The baiting people is using actual people as bait, though. I don't like where "so don't fight back" leads. I think there should be room for all of us to think things through. None of us has been at this exact awful point in history before. I just hope we get it right.

Yeah, and I think the first argument -- we get arrested and they still deport these people -- is valid. The cause of authoritarian crackdowns is authoritarianism though. Not people fighting back.

The first one is valid. I think most of us are holding ourselves back from what we would actually like to do because the consequences would be steep. The second one... the feds are doing whatever they want anyway. We shouldn't blame people authoritarians crack down on for the crackdown.

Yay! Thank you!

This seems to have turned our protests into cop-friendly only. I am not usually the leading edge of "stuff cops won't necessarily like" but I have been a few times and it's been lonely! It's looked lonely for other folks showing up, too.

People are talking each other out of protesting and I'm trying to think that through. I understand not wanting a felony or life-altering injury and then nothing changes. Is that why Portland is only doing cop-friendly protests?

I know they're not as harmful as Republicans. But they sure not reversing any harm or making things better, either.

I think there's value in respecting people. Democrats saw everyone without healthcare and thought: let's force everyone to buy insurance. I don't blame anyone who isn't psyched about their forced terrible insurance situation.

Schumer's plan is: the worse it gets, the more we win in 2026. They really are doing a terrible job fighting back. But then so are some leftists, just sitting at home judging people for getting arrested by the feds wrong.

Oo, perfect! Thank you!

I forgot about that, and I haven't read it yet... 😉

It does matter who people voted for, but yeah it matters more that people don't vote for Republicans again.

You’re saying you’d rather surround yourself with a majority of fascists than a minority of people who are simply annoying—that’s not a flex, that’s just lazy If people want to exclusively remain there, that’s their business, but don’t try to frame that choice as virtuous or superior. It’s laziness

The cops will only arrest you if you try too hard to help her. They aren't on our side.

(Be careful if you look up the video. It doesn't look like the guy is okay.)

The militarized cop who did a hit and run on a protester should be prosecuted as well.

Yeah. He was good last I knew, too, but I haven't paid close attention to Congress in a few years.

Johnson supported Jan. 6. Get him too.
