Can confirm all of this from experience. It is incredibly sad.
Also, as a pediatrician, I told all 4 grandparents that pertussis vaccination (ahead of time) would be a prerequisite to seeing their grandchild. Guess what, they loved him enough to do it.

A CGM = continuous glucose monitor CAN’T profoundly reverse T2 on its own, all it does it monitor one’s glucose. Helpful, but not sufficient. Sometimes diet and exercise can be enough, but often medication is necessary and may not be available to people if they don’t have insurance…

There is no question about whether insulin works if it is taken. Sure, in T1, metformin won’t help. The point is a CGM alone is not going to treat diabetes. Diet *alone* is NEVER going to treat T1 diabetes.
