Normally when you post the post timestamp gets set to the current time. It turns out that the post timestamp is decided by the software on your phone/pc instead of the bsky server, so you can set it to anything. OP set it to September 11, 2001.

It’s a site/app very similar to Bluesky, I suppose the biggest difference is that bsky is corporate-backed while mastodon is run by a non-profit.
Then there’s federation, and also that they use different protocols, but then again there’s also a bridge; fed.brid.gy/docs
