Goes hard: http://textfiles.com/underconstruction

The next big thing for postmarketOS: - all dependencies optional - no more tech debt - systemd and OpenRC installable simultaneously - retaining pbsplash as bootup splash while switching to plymouth for shutdown splash - every UI package merged into one

Congratulations to Germany for having the highest election turnout since reunification — 83,5%, pretty good! Thanks for doing your part in keeping democracy alive :)

TIL that woke is when you tell people to consider donating to free software projects.

Another banger of an MR finally merged after years of work! Really looking forward to a smoother #GNOME experience on my laptop.

Never thought I'd lose my phone's volume button.

No way, they finally merged it. Over five years of work.

Woke up to another two rounds of spam on Codeberg :(

Fun fact: If any directory leading to the path to your pmaports checkout has the name "archived", any device you select will be considered archived by #pmbootstrap and consequently show the (in)appropriate warning.

More reasons to avoid Google Maps and I suppose more broadly Google. I don't live nor currently reside in the USA (or using a VPN for that matter), why am I getting this bullshit name?

"we are not a banana republic!!" - DSB train conductor

Today I learnt what a bird conducting 15 kV of power through its body sounds like. Ouch.

If anyone still is confused about whether the USA is our ally. (full article: https://www.ft.com/content/ace02a6f-3307-43f8-aac3-16b6646b60f6)

Wohoo, Lomiri is finally in #postmarketOS pmaports master! (no thanks to me, I just hit the merge button)

Horrendous. I love it: https://neal.fun/stimulation-clicker

I can't be the only one who feels icky about corporate emails constantly including the name I provided them (usually my real name) in the subject. Why do they do this? I'm sure the answer is something about engagement but personally I'm just inclined to unsubscribe.

I really wish I understood this scam. Why did my apparent identity thief who's seemingly called Isabella share this number with me. There's also a base64-encoded PNG image included, but try as I might I can't get it to render.

Could really go for some 301 Moved Permanently rn

I often think about the time I asked a local politician from #Sverigedemokraterna about what his vision of a future #Linköping would be. He stops to think for a bit. "More security cameras".

REAL software development is when your commit messages look like fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! fixup! pmbootstrap and The CI Who Cried Wolf

They should invent docstrings that don't constantly lie to you.

Just learnt that there's an open source alternative to Stack Exchange called Codidact https://codidact.org. Of course, it also has a StackOverflow-style software Q&A: https://software.codidact.com. No idea if it's any good given that a website like this really only is as useful as its community […]

[Vent] I pick up someone else's cigarette butt to throw it away and consequently my glove smells like smoke. Truly no good deed goes unpunished.

First photos taken with the Samsung Galaxy S III on #postmarketOS, probably! Credits to Jack Kekzoz, @martijnbraam, and whoever else helped him with getting #Megapixels working on the Midas (Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II) devices — I'm just posting about this […] [Original post on mastodon.nu]

Insane how liberating it is to have drag-and-drop that works consistently and doesn't result in Firefox crashing. 2025 year of the NVIDIA + Wayland desktop?

It will never fail to fascinate me how many obscure websites and wikis there are about the most random of topics, like "hypothetical earthquakes": https://hypotheticalearthquakes.fandom.com

Feeling incredibly satisfied knowing that I for once managed to beat "Newbyte Educational Software" to the punch on Bluesky with getting my preferred handle.

Wish I had known this before: Apparently there is a third-party website where you can see the average delay for trains in #Sweden among other things: https://t%C3%A5gstationen.se
