Last summer, my always-watching-Fox-News neighbor with a county job got super drunk and started screaming "THE DEMOCRATS ARE FUCKING ME IN THE ASS! FUCK THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!" then shooting his gun (I live in the mountains) again and again. He'll hear an echo this summer from a sober neighbor.

This was my friend Lewis Smith, who passed on 1/15. He had a huge impact on my life when he - obsessive record collector/raver/dub fanatic - came over from the UK to UMC as an exchange student. We're working to build community outside the dance and away from social media spaces. We did a promoter round-table last year that had a nice turnout; get-togethers like these hold a lot of promise. I'll also give a short talk re: our efforts to leave Meta. Look forward to seeing you there!
