I'll post about like games, movies, book, and whatnot. Also just generally fun, maybe informative, maybe niche interest posts. Basically whatever I like. he/him T1 Diabetic

Maybe corny but it was helpful for me to hear Henry Rollins saying "this is not time to be dismayed, this is punk rock time, this is what Joe Strummer trained you for... You can be thunderous in your own life, to the eight people around you. That rubs off... Goodness is viral"

Their campaign called me to see if I'd support them in the leadership race, when I told them I would not, they simply hung up, didn't even bother asking why I might not want to, but uhhhhhhhh this campaign was a disaster from the start.

The Philadelphia Eagles have rejected White House visit, Again. I love that for them!!! Philly fans SHOULD BE PROUD as hell of their team.

My taste in music is getting a bit too esoteric lately to find on anything other than a Bandcamp genre search. It seems I want djent-y stuff with elements of swancore or mathcore or saxaphone, lots of saxaphone

For like the first half of #HeartEyes, my wife and I were fairly certain @joshruben.bsky.social 's director cameo was going to be as the killer. I loved the movie but I can't help but be slightly disappointed that I didn't get a mask reveal cut to- "Serial killing? No problem."

To be fair, Transformers the Movie is the Citizen Kane of Transformers movies* *However, Bumblebee and Transformers One are surprisingly good

2025: bringing back the 'memento mori' guys for Roman generals but now for every tech ceo I like it

Just gonna leave this here for the Ontarians smartvoting.ca (Also, yes, strategic voting is not a replacement or crutch for being an informed voter but every resource matters) #canada #election

The Monkey and Longlegs may both be from Oz Perkins and share themes (family trauma, parents trying to protect their kids, mental illness running in families) but the execution could not be more WILDLY different. The Monkey is like a Coen Brothers style dark comedy but with incredible gore #horror

I'd like the congratulate the Canadian hockey team on their victory last night over the team fielded by Russia's vassal.

Now that I watched it, I can see why it's been said The Boy and the Heron is a good companion film to Godzilla Minus One. Both deal with the theme of collective grief in parallel to their respective lead characters personal grief. Truly an astounding film. (my personal favourite is still Howl tho)

holy cow, my wife would love this

Thinking of making an Ides of March display for the library. No particular reason really #library #history

well, finally noticed the maple leaf flag stickers popping up out here, so it is clearly making a difference. It is somewhat of a bummer that it took an outside threat to unite us, but I'll take it I suppose

I hope America is as lucky as the delta jet - everyone survives but the right wing explodes

Aesthetically and slightly thematically, Urban Myth Dissolution Center is the closest I've come to scratching the "World of Horror" itch. Yes, technically WoH is more 'Apple II' compared to Urban Myth's 'Game Boy' but it's pretty close for my tiny brain #horror #videogames

The biggest problem with most of you is you think Kendrick Lamar is your revolutionary friend. Luigi Mangione is your revolutionary friend.

Do not mess with librarians. They let complete strangers borrow their books. For a living. Even the hardcovers. They are so much stronger than you know.

Sonic 3 knew exactly what it was doing when it played the 99 Red Balloons cover by Goldfinger The ONLY way it could've topped it would have been Sonic grinding a rail with Superman by Goldfinger playing. I know its nostalgia-bait but its quality nostalgia-bait.

Companion was as subtle as a sledgehammer and that's the way I liked it #horror #comedy #film (Also it's very funny to me that this is yet another horror movie that weaponizes Jack Quaid's general 'chill guy' -ness against the audience)

Wanted to play more Urban Myth Dissolution Center but I was so tired from my cat meowing all night that I could not reasonably function Maybe today I'll get a chance #indiegames #horror #visualnovel

Me: BATMAN BEGINS is great, but I was amused by the writers’-fiat plot device that a place can be SO corrupt that some reasonably-organized foreign actor can just puppeteer it on a whim. Me, 20 years later: fuck

Loved my first Jiu Jitsu class, my body feels like shit 10/10

Stage Fright (1987) is so good - you can tell it's from the same director as Cemetery Man with that sharp satirical edge - this time, firmly focused on the pursuit of art and success Also, its just an absolute ton of fun, you got sleazy directors, rainstorms, owl masks - its beautiful. #horror

Pale Blood hasn't aged the best but that post-punk/punk soundtrack is a highlight #horror #film #bmovie

Just a heads-up, but here's another handy tool when out picking up groceries #buycanadian

100 Yards was pretty great, a hell of a lot of philosophy and a pretty great central theme (tradition vs the inevitable march of progress). I liked how even the western-inspired soundtrack was kind of hinting at the emerging modern world. Not to mention, the fights were great Pretty fun movie

Now that Drake's crumbling, can we hold space for more home-grown rappers here? I mean I want conversations about Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Buck 65, Shad, Drezus, Kardinal Offishal, k-os, etc. I think we have an exciting opportunity here

"Normally, horror films are overlooked and not seen for the profundity that they can hold." - Demi Moore. Congrats to THE SUBSTANCE for winning 3 awards at the Critics Choice Awards last night:

What if history just didn't repeat itself, for once?

I gotta come clean, I still haven't seen Psycho, Jaws or the Blair Witch Project yet. I swear I mean to, I just haven't gotten around to it yet #horror #film #confession

I want you to be correct so bad, please let this be as good as dropout PLEASE

I'm genuinely impressed their brain cells can rub together enough to figure out that it's political now, nevermind their childhood nostalgia games. Also FF16 rules.

Hold the phone, Alisa is getting a sequel? Dang, gaming is in a good place at the moment

My GOTY 2024 is getting a sequel? Hot damn. Dude, this world/story has so much potential I'm glad it's being capitalized on.

The art in the Alan Moore run of Swamp Thing is so integral to its lasting appeal, like just look at this and tell me that is not a top 5 all time horror book. Rich Veitch and John Totleben were really cookin' #swampthing #horror #comics

You had me at "NIGHT OF THE HUNTER" (and that intoxicatingly beautiful imagery, holy smokes)

and they also named it Maomao Perfect.

Watching Apothecary Diaries and suddenly palace intrigue storylines hit a little harder lately Foiling conspirators is pretty much a full time concern at this point Timely and damn good show #anime #apothecarydiaries

*Damien Leone sweating frantically* "B-b-b-but those bigotry dollars..."

I think I'll take the opposite look at this discourse and say: what a massive W for Lauren LaVera and David Howard Thornton at least for standing on business
