I didn’t realize that the United States is still the largest oil consumer on earth and just how much higher our consumption is compared to other countries. China only now reaching our level of consumption and they have 4x as many people 😮 #energysky #greensky

New nuclear power in the US and Europe since 2000 have been an average of 8 years late and 2.5x over budget. This would need to be solved if we’re ever hoping to replace gas/coal with nuclear for Baseload. Last year coal was still the third largest electricity generation source in the USA #energysky

What if building roofs were considered separate “sun rights” where any solar developer could build on any roof, much like how a property owner doesn’t own the mineral rights to coal/oil below their property? Or how a customer doesn’t own their electric meter? #energysky #greensky

As I’ve learned more about the global energy system, I’ve become quite pro nuclear. A small amount of radioactive waste sitting in concrete is a bargain for 24/7 ZERO EMISSIONS power that can be sited anywhere. Unsolved problem is runaway project costs and timelines. Good news out of SC #energysky
