Baton rounds are not intended for use at close quarters like that. People have died from being struck by these things. (see "Death, injury and disability from kinetic impact projectiles in crowd-control settings" from the BMJ)
For what ? Being a journalist ? Were they reporting from LA or Gaza?

I started using Droitwich when it was still 200KHz for Radio 4 ... had to look up when it changed (1988).

For decades, Radio 4 on 198KHz was the reference standard that I used to calibrate instruments and digital clocks I made.
It will be a loss, no doubt but I guess that these days, we have already moved to other methods, by and large.

It's like seeing time suddenly run backwards. Fuck you all; I thought we as a species would have learned something by now, but instead we seem determined to repeat the mistakes of the past.

I turned over just in time to watch Jeff Beck playing Nessun Dorma on his strat. It's like the definition of sublime.
The contrast could not be more extreme.

Ameri-chicken and beef shouldn't be hard to spot, since it is bound to be almost completely obscured by a US flag on the packaging. They are not going to be subtle.
You could always take the approach I took a few years ago, which was to be vegetarian.

Pakistan claims to have shot down least 5 Indian aircraft including three Rafale jets, a MiG-29, and one Su-30. This would have been done using the Chinese-made J-10Cs.
The J-10Cs was long believed to be a paper tiger, if confirmed it'll boost its global sales from China.

Having failed to learn from the UK and Brexit, you're now going to copy Liz Truss (FORMER UK prime minister) and Kwasi Kwarteng (FORMER UK chancellor) who thought they could rely on pixie dust and wishful thinking to support their economic experiment.

Last eye test for me, they used an autorefractor which lacks the romance of that wonderful machine. However it was quick and accurate.

Is our favourite rocket scientist asking the WSJ to print the retraction to the story before publishing the story itself?

If Russia completely overwhelm Ukraine in the future and US companies can't continue to mine there, they'll probably sue Ukraine for breach of contract.

I just had my *free* COVID spring top-up vaccination thanks to the NHS; having a weakened immune system meant they actively sought me out and invited me to book an appointment for the jab.

So having more money than you can possibly spend in a lifetime even if you do waste it on out-doing Disney on a space-themed ride for rich people, doesn't protect you from having to tug the forelock.

I'd argue that displaying tariffs due for imports vs domestically manufactured alternatives will help to encourage the American consumer to switch to more US made stuff, and to see the financial advantage of doing so.
Assuming that things can be made cheap enough to be competitive ...
