It's been hard to put this in words... a few days ago, my family lost my younger brother, Alex. He was a brilliant musician and way too smart for his own good. And he navigated a very challenging illness for a long time. Even so, it was a shock to lose him.

So fucking pissed at Front Porch Forum. They won't let me add a link to our town's Discord server. They aren't Meta. They won't, and never will, have a monopoly on community forums (nor do they provide the technology to accommodate them). But they're acting like the only game in town.

I've wanted to divest as much of the Amazon empire as possible, but that'll take a while. I'm starting with Audible, which I use a lot (I have a 50min one-way commute to work). Turns out, there's a program that downloads and decrypts your Aubdible library! I'm thinking of trying Libro.FM instead.

I woke up early, too many thoughts and anxieties swirling. Perhaps I should be grateful. It made it easier to remember I can't keep up with everyone and everything. So I deleted FB from my phone and bookmarks. It's a small step, but then again, I'm small, too, and every little bit helps.
