Use your time in carpool line or traffic - call your Congressperson AND Congressman Buddy Carter (R-GA01), Chairman of the Health Subcommittee of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, to let them know how $880B in cuts to Medicaid and other services will affect you and your community. #resist

Despite saying they want to cut waste & inefficiency, the Trump Admin has said they’re eliminating 8,000 already installed EV charging stations & 25,000 federally owned EVs. This petty action will cost $1.325 B taxpayer dollars, just to stop gov employees & visitors from using cleaner technology.

Some 1,000 NPS employees were fired, and hiring for seasonal positions was delayed. Here's what to know about the impacts already being felt at parks, and what it could mean for the busy season.

This is National Invasive Species Awareness week, and we’d like to make you aware of some common #invasiveplants in Georgia. This is Japanese honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica), a category 1 invasive. This plant out-competes #nativeplants by smothering and choking them.

Congratulations to our four #4ContsFigure medalists. 👏

Maybe corny but it was helpful for me to hear Henry Rollins saying "this is not time to be dismayed, this is punk rock time, this is what Joe Strummer trained you for... You can be thunderous in your own life, to the eight people around you. That rubs off... Goodness is viral"

WaPo Page One: “If you’re going to just yell at me, that’s not going to be an effective town hall,” McCormick said .. “But we’re pissed!” a woman shouted. #GA07 www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Yes, rise up Roswell!!!!! #resist

I was a seasonal ranger/naturalist at a few different agencies and eventually worked in HQ for one. I can attest to the absolute need for seasonal staff to help handle high visitation times at parks. This is a set up for failure to open up parks to natural resource gutting.

Did You Know? The inventor of the bestselling Super Soaker was a Black man—and Hasbro tried to cheat him out of his royalties. In 2013, Lonnie Johnson, a nuclear engineer and former NASA scientist, won a $73 million settlement from Hasbro for underpaid royalties. Johnson holds over 80 patents.

First, it's Administrator. Second, the energy standards are at DOE not EPA. Either way—Trump has no idea how government works, yet his ridiculous post led DOE to freeze commonsense appliance efficiency standards updates - first established in my 1987 law. We deserve better.

Unfortunately baseball recruitment socials are firmly established on Twitter/X, but I feel compelled to share my son's excellent double. They won 4-2. x.com/PrepBaseball...

Sheryl Crow: “My parents always said you are who you hang out with. There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla. Money donated to NPR, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes the truth will…find its way to those willing to know [it].”

“The thing that I can’t get over is that the actual richest man in the world directed my fucking firing. I make $50k a year and work to keep drinking water safe. The richest man in the world decided that was an expense too great for the American taxpayer.”

The American lady butterfly is a beautiful visitor who likes to find cudweed (Pseudognaphalium) and pussytoes (Antennaria) for her eggs. Once the caterpillars hatch, they hide in the leaves, making a mess. But once they’re gone, the #nativeplants put out fresh leaves and wait for the next batch.

Check out the GNPS symposium on Saturday and hear #mysistertheresister talk about the time she fought the lawn and the lawn lost -- and how it turned into a statewide victory in MD. We'll discuss some takeaways we learned from confronting outdated HOA policy. #nativeplants gnps.org/2025-georgia...

I can't even right now, so I just went ahead and made the dumbest thing

The red-spotted purple butterfly is one of several large dark blue butterflies that grace our state. It is unusual in that it rarely eats flower nectar as an adult - It likes sap, rotten fruit, carrion, minerals on the ground, and even dung! But it does need your #nativeplants for its eggs.

While we’re waiting for spring, we’ll feature some of the native creatures that depend on native plants. Here is our state butterfly, the eastern tiger swallowtail. While you might see this large butterfly nectaring on all types of flowers, it can only become a butterfly because of #nativeplants.

I don't know what this means for my #Monday, but our neighbor's black cat was chicken-sitting outside our picture window staring into our house. Watched me make coffee and breakfast, then left. #cats #kewlkewlkewl

We love a good field guide around these parts. The more unique, the better. Phil Chaon and Iain Campbell have certainly done that with their new book, Habitats of North America; A Field Guide for Birders, Naturalists, and Ecologists. Listen this week's podcast for more: www.aba.org/09-06-habita...

Red maple (Acer rubrum) is our earliest native tree to bloom in the Atlanta metro area, and a few are blooming already. Flowers are male and female and the ones spotted this week were all female (right), their fuzzy stigmas just waiting to get some pollen from a male flower (left). #nativeplants

Join us VIRTUALLY on February 15-16 for Breaking the Grass Ceiling: Promoting Native Landscapes. We have a fantastic lineup! Grab tickets for one or both days, and if you can't watch live, the session recordings will be shared with ticket holders. Details here: https://vist.ly/3mu9xzi #nativeplants

While crunching #christmasbirdcount data tonight, I caught one of the best episodes of TV ever made. It was a nice break: #theoffice Niagara part 2. ❤️

Thanks @thebirdist.bsky.social for posting. Look at this doc to see how far and wide the new administration will go for fossil fuels. Endangered plants and animals, incidental takes on wildlife, forests, clean auto tech, environmental health, it's all at stake. #wildlife #nativeplants #cleanenergy

Crossvine (Bignonia capreolata) is an evergreen vine in the Bignoniaceae family with large colorful trumpet-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds (it is related to trumpet creeper, Campsis radicans, but much better behaved). #nativeplants

We updated TrumpGolfTrack.com to include the price of eggs and gas per your request. And a nice little home screen icon. More to come 🤣

When asked if he was going to visit the crash site he said, ‘what site? The water? You want me to go swimming?’ This is one of the last pics of the young skaters who died. He’s a sociopath. Anyone who voted for this monster should be ashamed at best.

I'm happy to see Julia smiling. I got to share ice with her this summer and see with her strength and grace in person. Best of luck from the #ATL. #EuroFigure (Btw, if you ever want to get over yourself, just get on the ice with a top-tier skater and feel the wind gusts as they fly by you.)
