I’ve given up on guilty pleasures, and just try and enjoy stuff now. Making, baking, cooking, Guiding, walking, music and reading are all good things.

I once had a hug from Phill Jupitus, and it was wonderful, and I think probably the closest thing to a Duggee hug I’ll ever achieve.

He once held a lift for me when Em was a tiny baby, and told me she was beautiful and cooed over her, so I like him.

Plus a couple of hours reading papers and policies for being a governor, and all the usual work/family stuff.
I know this is all self inflicted, and this week is a bit fuller than usual, but jeez.

Someone has said that Scientologists are known to be superficially charming, which I guess explains why I had this opinion of him. I don’t disbelieve the women who have come forward at all, on the contrary I can see how he can charm someone to give himself the opportunity to commit these awful acts.

Pretty sure you could publish a shopping list and my kid would beg me to buy it (we’re actually not long in from Guides where she took a signed copy of one of your books as one of her favourite things to talk about to the other girls ❤️)

It’s what I used to enjoy about the Boring Conference. Do I have any real interest in the engineering intricacies of a shipping pallet? No. Will I listen to something who’s incredibly interested in them tell me about it? Yes!

I’ve lost count of the amount of people who’ve asked “but why do you do it ?!” when they find out I don’t get paid for Guiding (and to a lesser extent, being a governor). Most of our parents seems to think we’re being paid out of the subs they pay, and grouch about us changing for weekends away

This was taken at almost 9pm on the last night of our holiday. We got everyone ready and spent an hour or so in the sea as the sun set. It was probably one of the best things we did all week, maybe year, and just so much fun. This year I want yes to doing the stupid stuff, the fun stuff…just stuff.

We had to go buy some bits as a Christmas present, knowing literally nothing and were in the shop about 30 minutes getting a full run down 😆

I was in a warhammer shop last weekend, I hadn’t realised the sheer scope of it all.

Em’s first tube ride was at about 10 days when we had to go to a hospital appointment. We all survived!

I find it really weird how terrified people are about taking children to London as well. I’ve seen so many posts on FB etc of people asking things like “can I bring my toddler to London? Is it okay to take them on the tube?!”
