Punk This Week returns with @see-saw.fun and we're talking about: - noisy chicago punk - melodic d-beat from scotland - confrontational nyc hardcore - screamo from someone whose output is frankly intimidating - and more

🗣️ I LOVE MSPAINT (the band) MORE THAN I LOVE MOST THINGS 🗣️

you like PUNK THIS WEEK, the podcast from @ninacorcoran.bsky.social and I? great news: we've got a new monthly bonus podcast! subscribe to see/saw (there's a two-week free trial) for the inaugural episode with @danozzi.bsky.social! a new guest every month, 3 of us curating a mythical punk jukebox ⚡

not only am I glad to read an interview with musicians who seem like a cool hang, I'm down for any punk rock that not only has a kosmische influence but straight-up references ultra-freaky hip-hop/beathead favorites The Stark Reality

the 30th episode of PUNK THIS WEEK with @ninacorcoran.bsky.social includes some chat about John Dwyer impossibly releasing a career highlight this past week, some killer new bands, and of course, soft pretzels

internet archive is getting sued by record companies for $700M to stop public's access to old 78rpm vinyl archives, destroying @archive.org in the process. stop this cycle of attacks against libraries.

Oh lakeview

Sending a groveling discogs dm on a friday night to really humble myself

John Dwyer and David Barbarossa are two lifers with an abundance of knowledge to share The energy in this zoom call I did with them about Chime Oblivion, their new weird dubby proto-punk band, for @stereogum.bsky.social was equal parts giddy and tangential – the best kind of interview

If you want my opinions without a character limit, @jamieloftus.bsky.social is the best host ever: www.iheart.com/podcast/1119...

We talked to Osees’ John Dwyer and Bow Wow Wow’s David Barbarossa about Chime Oblivion, their new project teetering on the edge of weird proto-punk, hearty no-wave, and tripped-up dub. Read the Q&A and stream their self-titled debut album a day early:

Giddy up 🐴 Time to talk about bands that remind @see-saw.fun and me of Mannequin Pussy, Nico, Parquet Courts, and more on the pod

the PUNK THIS WEEK pod returns with discussions of some killer new records, an unhinged snacks manifesto by the great Science Man, some talk about the year 1 parties, and more, go listen to FUGITIVE BUBBLE and TEO WISE and STERÖID see-saw.fun/punk-this-we...

Reviewed the perfect "you're graduating in 2002 and driving with the windows down after school" album

sad to see adults not knowing the difference between “yield” and “not stop.” guess that’s why there are so many terrible drivers

People who feel perpetually guilty like me have one less thing to feel bad about :')

I went down a rabbit hole into the "physical Switch 2 games cost $90" claim and found a self-feeding cycle of misinformation that speaks to how Google is making us all dumber. www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/no-sw...

After Yasmin Williams emailed Trump ally & Kennedy Center president Richard Grenell to ask what's next for the arts venue, he lashed out and the convo went viral Yasmin hopped on a call with me to talk about it, the deafening silence from admins, how awfully KC employees are now treated, and more

A great interview from @ninacorcoran.bsky.social !

"He clearly doesn’t care about the arts, he’s clearly lying in the emails, and he’s clearly unhinged" Yasmin Williams spoke with Pitchfork about her conversation with Trump ally Richard Grenell

i spoke to @jael.bsky.social about liberation weekend 2025, scheduling a "trans-forward and trans-fronted" music festival under a hostile regime, and leveraging visibility in music to move cultural needles www.vulture.com/article/libe...

Upside of only one Ben & Jerry's location in all of chicago is that the free cone day line barely exists and I ate 5 ice cream cones in an hour

The new Turnstile song is Glow On deja vu (which isn't a bad thing?)

Al Barile, the co-founding guitarist in legendary Boston hardcore band SSD (formerly SS Decontrol) and a lifelong straight-edge icon, has died

This for sure fucking whips

Yep. This is the stuff.

i love this. big fan of punk music by dudes who can play the hell out of their instruments

I'm in the midst of my second listen, and this album rips. Bluesky is a fun space, but it is not yet a fun MUSIC space, so I am extra glad we have folks like Nina who earnestly celebrate it - and punk rock in particular.

Biking at night in chicago makes me feel like I just broke out of prison after 20 years of solitary confinement

record is good as hell, wow, so glad i pulled up pitchfork dot com on my phone this morning
