Note: This is for the older kids who are well aware of everything going on. The younger kids don't ask, so I don't say anything to them.
But I'm over adults being whack and expecting me to cover for them.

I'm over here raising four kids without any help. I dont have the energy to make up stories in order to lie to my kids about your decisions.
If you don't want me to explain to them why you do dumb shit, stop doing dumb shit.

The city of Vallejo doesn't represent for Sly like we should. He went to Vallejo High and studied music at Solano Community College! I think it's because of his public struggle with drugs, which is whack. He deserves so much more from us.

Also, those of us from marginalized communities have a lot more historical knowledge and lived experiences of how to survive whatever is coming. The way I'm finding joy with my family and tapping into resources with my community makes me hella hopeful.

We watched both last year! And they loved them.
We actually started with Red Tails last night. Now I have a week to pick out next movie.

We're starting with Remember the Titans. I know it's cheesy but I love it.

I think you can shop their website without a membership. I'm case you wanna try that first. But I love my local warehouse. It has the best produce in Vallejo aside from the farmer's market.

And it was during the ipod era, so they would always find the auxiliary cord and start playing hella inappropriate music. I finally presented them with two options:
1. They could be the DJ with my ipod
2. I could be the DJ with their ipod
They never liked my library so I usually got to be the DJ 🤣

For me it's always been about cultivating the type of world that I wish we lived in inside of my classroom. My hope is that it shows the students what's possible so they bring that same communal, affirming, welcoming energy into their real worlds and fight for it to manifest everywhere.

And their stock is doing great. They don't have to fuck over their customers to make money for their shareholders.
