I've gone back and forth over writing this post. Because a trade war between the U.S. and Canada isn't about the relationship we have with our readers, whom we value and appreciate no matter where they live. But the landscape in which Canadian small businesses operate has changed tremendously.

A quilter bought @3rdstoryworkshop.bsky.social's book and came to have it signed, and said to me, "I flipped it over and it's made from recycled paper! That means so much to me!" And I was all, "It means so much to ME." It was a lovely moment, and I love that makers care about how things are made ❤️

How do we define “made in Canada” - in the context of wool yarn? Is it “made” if it was dyed here? How about if it was only spun here but the growing of the wool - washing & carding happened elsewhere? How much of the actual manufacturing has to be done here to be branded as “made in Canada”?
