The downside of fostering a baby puppy from a puppy mill is even you're picking up a friend in DC and you have the puppy in the back, and you're on the Beltway so can't exactly pull over when few starts whining. Upside is the dewormer that he got a few hours earlier is clearly doing its job

So, after we lost Murphy I applied to foster with both a German Shepherd rescue and a Corgi rescue (what can I say? I've got a thing for herding dogs, apparently). Today from the Shepherd rescue, I received an emergency plea that an Amish breeder was going to shoot the puppies that hadn't sold.

So I'm on a buy-less, buy-nothing, buy-intentionally year (depending on the category of product). And one thing I LOVE as a result of this is making my own vegetable stock weekly. All the scraps that would normally go into my compost bin are frozen over the week and then boiled down into stock.
