My proudest art achievement in the last year was creating a lineart brush that I am finally very happy about. I really wanted to achieve a less crisp digital look, lines that have imperfect opacity as if non-uniformly absorbed by paper and edges slightly blurry without looking as if blur was applied

The most recent development version of Gubbins (the current name for my habit tracking app). The backend is extremely there, it's just making the UI bits for everything. I haven't worked on it in a few weeks because of commissions and mental health and other stuff.

Video game price spicy take. People that point out that indie games are of excellent quality and fair price as a counter to rising AAA prices. I largely agree with you. The solution there is to just spend your hard earned cash on the indie games then though right? Don't pay what you don't wanna pay.

I am gonna subtweet a bit but uh yeah, apart from Blender, most open source apps for media creation simply do not cut it, and I think recommending them is a disservice to folks if you want to help escort them out of Adobe software.
