The glare on the phone screen was a little annoying but I got some good exercise in today while finishing up Squid Game 2.

Finished Squid Game 2 (after everybody stopped talking about it, lol). I genuinely don’t know if the series will end in the people winning or losing against the system. It’s a little cliche if they win (from a western perspective) but it’s unsatisfying if they just lose.

With the iOS rant out of the way let’s look at Android phones. Given the state of the economy and the fact that I don’t *need* all the bells and whistles, I’m looking at devices a step down from Flagship level. I still want *some* bells and whistles 🙂 The S24 FE is a good candidate, maybe.

Oh I didn’t do the iOS rant here yet. I need to do code projects and I thought I’d try mobile. It turns out I cannot code for my iPhone unless I shell out for a Mac and sell an arm to afford memory/storage upgrades to get one that isn’t mid. Yes that is a pun about ARM.

One of the screws on the bottom of my iPhone has inexplicably become darker than the other, I have never opened this device up. How does this even happen, corrosion?

why is there no AOSP image for Android 16 in the Android Studio emulator

A lot of people don't know this but it's called a computer "virus" because the first "virus" was written by Robert B. Virus. It was written in Rust and discovered in the wild in October, 1976. It primarily targeted Windows 10 machines. He called it Stuxnet

Jailbroke my Kindle Paperwhite yesterday and now it can natively display manga from aggregator websites online. Unfortunately it is still a lot nicer to read on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite(2022) [out of support after 3 years] {😡}

Eel surprises everyone in Japan by looking like a spotty banana.

I wish them both the worst.

Daiso 6088 Hi-Res Audio Certified Earphones ($8 USD, ¥500) Very steep V-shaped sound, kinda shows Hi-Res certification doesn’t mean that much. In a pinch you could do worse I guess. More subbass than Final E3000 but everything else on the Final sounds better.

Turns out the thing about Google services slowing down Android also extends to the Android Emulator in Android Studio, despite me setting up the Windows hypervisor and GPU acceleration. The AOSP image is much smoother so I guess I’ll use that until I need to learn Google APIs.

$2.25 Daiso iPhone SE case. Virtually no display lip, very minimal camera lip, clear so you can see every single speck of dust under the case, but it is $2.25 so it’s not a big problem.

Why does MyFitnessPal run like absolute garbage with Low Power Mode on

Took a little excursion to the Melon website, after some good posts it started becoming bad again after like an hour.

Up until almost 1 AM building a Danbo figure using a design from a Japanese website and Google Translate as one does win1999.web.fc2.com/Oshiire/EXTR...

people who use weird firefox forks are like oh no i switched to FlunkWeb 2 weeks ago. I'm on PissWeasel now. Oh no I don't use that anymore, I'm on Dirt now. Download Dirt right now. Dirt kind of supports all your extensions. Let's get mad at extension devs if their shit doesn't work on Dirt.

Oh Adobe, you're only raising the price of my subscription by $100? But you did $100 last year. I demand you DOUBLE the price to keep up with the economy. Not doing so is simply irresponsible to the shareholders. TRIPLE THE PRICE NOW OR I UNSUBSCRIBE.

Wanted to replay HL2 but it kept freezing up, the solution was to install the latest Intel Graphics Driver from their website rather than use the outdated Dell-provided drivers.

When using web browsers on Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora) all video playback uses bilinear scaling so anything not native resolution looks bad even with hardware accel on. On Windows/Chrome OSit uses the hardware scaler, I think Intel uses a form of Lanczos, so low res videos look nice. Any fix?
