Everytime you repost this someone turns into a Miku

Them's fancy words for Marjorie Taylor Greene's "National Divorce," which is I believe the endgame.

This legitimately feels like the headlines some hack director would have playing on a TV in the background to ominously foreshadow Act 2 during the opening scene

May anyone connected to this regime never eat saliva-free food again.

I don't have it in me anymore to be nice to the ostrich class that wants to live with their heads in the sand. I am sick and tired of being held hostage by a loud minority of religious zealots. All of them can eff off and kick rocks

media needs to be banned from using the word "skeptic" immediately since over the last 20 years they have proved over and over they cannot be trusted with it

Catholics as a MAJORITY of the Supreme Court!!!! so many Catholics that anything they mostly agree on passes!!!! the Founding Fathers’ doomsday scenario

I really do think this might be the worst Supreme Court of all time, which is saying something for an institution that coexisted with slavery These motherfuckers are even worse imo bc they are *also* out here using antebellum reasoning and pursuing antebellum goals but well post bellum!

Dismantling of USAID is expected to kill more people than the bombs dropped on Japan during WW2. Now, the US is actively threatening access to vaccines at home and abroad. The potential death toll in just a few short months is staggering. These are slow-moving massacres of choice.

Opinion | Stop fretting about today’s Supreme Court ruling vastly expanding Trump’s executive power. If critics want to reverse it, they can just bring a similar case when a Democrat is president.

We *should* have had it

The federal government could announce tomorrow that it will no longer recognize same-sex marriages and every single person in one would need to sue to enforce the recognition of their marriage. If you can't sue, it won't be recognized. No right is safe.

I think the takeaway of this opinion day is that this court would rather sever the bounds of union and burn down the public square in order to see those they deem as less than not benefit

they are open bigots and Obergefell is next

They're just televising the construction of concentration camps like it's a good thing. This is unimaginably dark.

it's about time this party brought in a lineup that knows how to play offense

this is just an observation but one way to think of the civil war is that it WAS about states rights, but the right in question was the right of free states to stay free

So am I reading this court decision correctly? We now have 50 micronations with their own laws interpreting the U.S. Constitution wholly separate from one another? But there's one guy with private law enforcement who is immune from all punishment who can do whatever he wants in those 50 states?

this court says that allowing EPA to regulate carbon emissions is a "major question" that demands congressional debate. but allowing the president to, with a flick of the wrist, end a straightforward constitutional right is something that must be allowed to stand?

Deporting children of military veterans because they were born on an overseas military base. This man has no citizenship now.

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it. - Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders. - Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

there is no jurisprudence at work here. the republican court believes that anything a republican president is presumptively constitutional, even if it directly violates the unambiguous constitutional text and causes total chaos in law and policy.

In a deathblow to the ability to stop blatantly lawless and unconstitutional actions by the government, the Supreme Court just gutted the ability to get universal injunctions. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

The Supreme Court is about to go on an extended summer vacation, after having blown up the docket of every single lower court judge who has been working like a dog to deal with the firehose of illegal orders coming out of this administration.

They can pry my porn out of my cold dead hands idc

It's in some ways impressive how this court is constantly one upping its worst ruling, can't settle for just one or a few

An addled president is shredding the Constitution to usher in white nationalism and fascism while destroying the economy and our health care, so if you’re going to write an alarmist op-ed because a mayoral candidate might open five (5) city-run grocery stores, you can kindly get bent.

This seems like a good time to re-up this article www.thenation.com/article/poli...

i can’t express how much i stan rick steves

heres the thing if we have a country where youre a citizen in some states but not in others that is not a country we're in articles of confederation territory

Unless something dramatic happens in the interim, a birth certificate will no longer be sufficient to prove the citizenship of any child born in much of the United States after July 27.

6-3 in favor of Trump in the birthright citizenship case— which at this stage was only about about nationwide injunctions. But Sotomayor brings it back to what this is really about—letting Trump get away with lawlessness. Her dissent is another banger which she is reading from the bench:

Trump v Casa was decided today 6-3. The Court strikes down the issuance by several district courts of nationwide orders stopping the Trump Admin from enforcing the birthright citizenship EO. The Court takes no position on whether Trump’s order violates the 14th. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

“No right is safe in the new legal regime the Court creates.” –Justice Sonia Sotomayor. One of the most chilling sentences I have ever read.

The main upshot of today's birthright citizenship ruling (that I'm still making way through) seems to be that each person victimized by an unconstitutional Trump order has to pretty much sue individually. Trump is free to act unconstitutionally to everybody individually.

Sorry what #dollsky

White House Deputy Press Secretary now claims that this representation—made by a Justice Department attorney in federal court just a few hours ago—is “fake news.”

Same vibes.

got a bit carried away with this piece but I feel like that's appropriate @hbomberguy.bsky.social

I just want y’all to contemplate the reaction if a member of any other religious group was treated this way by a member of Congress.

i am very skeptical that even bondi is this stupid, but it would be a catastrophic political mistake for them to even attempt it

went to cancel an impulse buy and well #dollsky

Zohran Mamdani is so effective, Republicans think he’s a sleeper agent sent here to destroy your landlord's feelings daveweasel.substack.com/p/they-want-...

The best part of the Mamdani win is that a bunch of octogenarian Democratic officials might finally be realizing that it's long past time they pass the torch.
