I would argue that if someone is willing to discard their values to attain/maintain power, they are probably not a great person. The mask is off for a lot of our congresspeople (on both sides of the aisle).

I live in his district. 45% of his constituents live in Lincoln (which is mostly Blue), but he chose to hold his town hall in a city 1 hour away that is mostly Red in order to avoid criticism. Glad it didn’t work. What a coward.

The average person doesn’t think twice about getting into a car, but most people have at least some fear related to flying, which is exponentially safer. Same concept here. I don’t think most people have the critical thinking skills necessary to distinguish average levels of corruption from this

It’s more nuanced than that. There were former business executives working for the government essentially for free and not every contract was profitable. You can hate Nazi’s and also not want your country to go to war.
What AOC said might not be 100% accurate but it’s also not 100% wrong either.

This isn’t entirely accurate. The U.S. manufactured and provided most of the equipment and weapons used by the allies in WWII and did so before we officially entering the war. The allies would have lost without our help. Wont argue that we took too long to enter the war. Shoulda joined sooner.
