Pretty simple: NC State is the only team to beat a full-strength Notre Dame. I wanted to reward them for that.
I honestly think the top 9 are pretty interchangeable. You can make different cases and arguments. Anyone can beat anyone.

But you probably won’t see my byline in a ton of other places, which is bittersweet. Sweet because I won’t be burning the candle at both ends, bitter because I really enjoyed working with the folks at For The Win, The Next, & Field Level Media.

Just a discussion point. SC still has an impressive resume. But I agree, with those two losses they probably aren't. But how far do they fall? Are they the third? the fourth? We get into it.
