They do seem well suited for hummingbird beaks and eyes. Well, they are the same colors as certain popular hummingbird feeders. The artificial feeders probably take color inspiration from this flower, now that I think of it.

Tiny meadow flowers deserve our appreciation too! Try to notice them before the landscapers mow them down for making their green desert lawns look rough. They're resilient little beauties!

you can’t just automatically follow people back. what if u accidentally follow a racist? or worse, someone who unironically posts Be Kind memes?

Ugh, I am so sorry. Anti-abortion rabble-rousers turned lots of us into crazies, especially those of us that were already close to going insane anyway. I have been dealing with a someone convinced that democracy is a plot by Jesuits and Masons to doom the world. Hope you find a safer home soon.

Thankfully, 80% of the college eligible to become pope were appointed by Francis. There's a good chunk of American Catholics that are either too sane or too apathetic to support an antipope. But then there are all the exEvangelical and exProtestant converts who joined as Crusader wannabes πŸ™„

I was mistaken, he's not evading the blocklist, he's evading an account suspension. πŸ˜‰

On second thought, the Democrats in the US may have been inspired by Labour's lackluster opposition to Brexit. πŸ™„

Dear Labour, Please ask the Democrats in the US how that strategy worked out for them. On second thought, don't, they'll say it's going exactly as planned; people just need a very harsh reminder of how bad the bad guys are. What better way than to let the bad guys run the country? 😭

He owns several 7 letter dot coms already, in addition to DuaneFKing.com, so he's pretending to be concerned about the plight of the poor. ... In order to make the point that domains shouldn't be identities in some roundabout way? Something is fishy. He blocked me but I still get notifications πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Common sense is never as common as you assume and it hardly ever makes sense. It is almost always a shortcut for reasoning or communication that you or someone else doesn't want to do. Be wary of politicians who talk about common sense.

?? How could I have known you were a domain squatter? 😜 Kidding! But seriously, I can't troll or lie about what I don't know. Anyhow, if that was really your point, your business communication could benefit from the messaging practice BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT. And never assume common sense.

Well see, there is your problem, you crave notoriety so much that you want a 5-8 letter dot com for your name. Pity that keybase.io didn't give you a ${username}.keybase.io subdomain instead of a keybase.io/${username} subdirectory. That might fit your needs better.

Here's a video of the American Splendor leaving Vicksburg earlier this week. You can see its paddle wheel better here. also a mockingbird. I have cut out the sound because it made the video exceed the file size limit, but it was mostly just wind.

But me β€” I can hardly stand the horror of being known. I am disturbed by strangers knowing my name. You can't expect the new social media hellhole to feel exactly like the old social media hellhole. But must we listen to the extroverts who crave engagement? Must we repeat this cycle again?
comment in response to post
that replaced the timelines on Facebook and Twitter. I hardly understand the people who crave engagement and followers. For some, their livelihoods depend on it; for some, there is some sort of politics or other advocacy to push. Some people are just extroverted.
comment in response to post
I know that the need to be engaged in constantly refreshing engagement bait is something my introverted ass is never going to understand. Personally I couldn't stand it. I preferred a linear timeline of posts from people that I knew rather than the algorithmically arranged feed or engaging posts

It's been years since I last saw it. But thinking on it, I realize now that it would be hard to measure inclusivity vs exclusivity. It would be hard to get any reliable data on an actually exclusive religious group as well, since distrust of outsiders would likely be one of the group fundamentals.
comment in response to post
People love being part of exclusive clubs; makes 'em feel real special. Unfortunately one of the easiest ways to increase group cohesion is to collectively hate on outsiders. Maybe humanity will stop hating on ourselves when we have an extraterrestrial alien to hate on.

Unfortunately, might be true. I remember a study showing that membership at inclusive welcoming churches is falling, especially during the pandemic, but fire and brimstone, they are them, we are us, kill em all, exclusive churches are growing. Especially the ones "repressed" by the lockdowns
