I'll never get over the coverage Clinton, Biden, and Harris were subjected to when this man does crimes, falls asleep on tv, and speaks in word salads.

@liss.bsky.social did you figure out your SF Symbol?

@jamellebouie.net there’s someone pretending to be you and messaging your followers on TikTok, but as usual for TT, it won’t let me report them.

This book is essential reading for a number of reasons. Some of this you know or sort of know, but certainly not to this depth.

Through all his troubles, neither the DOJ/FBI nor any state authorities ever subjected Donald Trump to arrest, preferring in every case to proceed by indictment and voluntary surrender. It’s notable that a sitting judge and pillar of the Milwaukee community was not extended the same courtesy.

Not only is he unfit for his job, so is every Senator who voted to confirm him.

i cannot emphasize enough that if you thought trump would bring the war to a close or even make headway on a peace agreement then you are among the dumbest people alive www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/0...

If the agent of an embittered KGB officer somehow won the US presidency and entered into the office bent on destroying the USA in its national influence, network of alliances, and the American people’s quality of life, what would he be doing differently?

If anyone knows the secret to getting Intuit to stop sending me emails about QuickBooks loans, please do share. I’ve unsubscribed several times and checked all the QB settings I could find.

I don’t know how people whose TikTok accounts mostly consist of them reading jokes they saw on Twitter or BlueSky or whatever and pretending they’re original make those videos with a straight face.

I've mentioned how I came to the US on a Fulbright, and met my wife-to-be, then years later was seated at dinner beside Fulbright's widow, who said this kind of connection was why he had wanted the program. Trump is building an America that no-one will want to come to or have anything to do with.

The First Amendment only protects breaking into the Capitol and not having to hear about DEI; it doesn’t protect protesting or representing people.

I already read this book. Can we pick another one?

In case this is still too subtle for anyone, "Farmer" is the English translation of "Boer."

I spent a while today going down this rabbit hole, and I don’t even see any evidence that the player who spiked the ball that hit McNabb was trans, much less than their alleged manly super strength caused her injury.

So the Mexico-US-Canada World Cup is going to be interesting, huh

Republicans could easily stop Trump and Musk’s liquidation of government functions their constituents rely on. Just a small handful—literally single digits—could work with Democrats and end it. Instead they meekly go along while privately begging for dispensation. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

This sort of gives away the "liberal deep state" nonsense. *There has never been a Director of the FBI who was a Democrat. *The Republican Directors were not targeting conservatives, if the word "conservative" has any meaning.

Now that musk is saying he’s doing the DOGE stuff “because the globalists have plotted a Great Replacement in which they use government handouts to buy votes from illegal immigrants and urban blacks” maybe we don’t have to act like this is about deficits or cost cutting anymore

Interesting: the State Department’s procurement forecast detailing a $400 million order for "armored Tesla" has now been edited to "armored electric vehicles." The document shows the edit was made tonight at 9:12 p.m. -- after it was highlighted in reports

When Stanford IT staff and a pro-diversity group shared a list of words they encouraged others not to use, it was national news, despite the fact it never represented campus policy. When the government erases any mention, data or research related to words, will it be treated as a free speech issue?

This is the thought that has been in my head since this all started. There’s no way out for them if there’s a government left when they’re done. That’s hugely scary.

Hey #rva: Style Weekly's annual Best of Richmond Readers' Poll is open! Submit your nominations by Feb. 28. The top three in each category will move on to the voting round, which runs from March 7-28. vote.styleweekly.com.

I don’t understand what they thought they were voting for, since everything he’s done and said here is in line with his campaign.

new video up on the youtube page (adapting my column last week) www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgPh...

The guy overseeing USAID was identified two years ago as a Jan. 6 participant who entered the Capitol through a broken window. www.nbcnews.com/politics/whi...

at least @techdirt.bsky.social is not fucking around

The unelected South African oligarch tearing apart American civil service is calling the international aid-and-soft-power apparatus started at the height of the Cold War to counter the influence of the Soviets a “viper’s nest of radical-left marxists.” Wont anyone read a book?

Hey look, another instance of the total failure of Article I of the Constitution. This is an agency created by a law of Congress in 1961. The President does not have the power to do this. Except, he can if Congress does nothing.

they’re segregationists

🎯: “No ‘process of national reconciliation’ can begin when poor losers, whose preferred candidate loses an election, are glorified for disrupting a constitutionally mandated proceeding … and doing so with impunity.”

@jamellebouie.net @lioneltrolling.bsky.social best thing about the movie 1941 is definitely the John Williams score

one reason i am adamant that we should not treat the constitution as purely or exclusively a form of law is that it cedes the field to clever lawyers. “oh, well if some chuds in trump’s white house says birthright citizenship doesn’t exist then i guess it doesn’t exist.” but
