"Yes, the people who voted for Trump had a good reason to." -- David Brooks, PBS News Hour, tonight. Fuck this clown forever.

Regardless of how much coverage it gets, Trump aiming to install a military command that places loyalty to him above loyalty to the constitution needs to be a much bigger story.

I didn’t even realize there was another Nazi salute at CPAC aside from Bannon. Fuck all of these people.

I assume it’s gonna be Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, and that pillow guy with the concerning twitch

This is so sad. He’s with Trump in his profile pic, too.

My new favorite drug is Republican members of Congress getting yelled at in their districts by constituents who hate Musk.

I’m starting to think he’s got no second act. He’s like a bad one-hit wonder band from the 80s.

When Trump names unqualified loyalist Pete Hegseth as defense secretary and purges our top military leaders, it raises rational fears that he wants a military willing to train its guns on American citizens upon his orders.

It has been a long and grueling week. Thank you to everyone who offered kind words of support. If you want to follow everything happening to democracy in court, while also supporting pro-democracy independent media, please sign up for Democracy Docket. www.democracydocket.com/me-subscribe...

The poster child for white male mediocrity, Pete Hegseth, is firing qualified Black men and women from the military.

It’s only right for him to be on the first flight to Mars. It’s his baby.

Why did Hegseth just fire every top military branch lawyer? What did they refuse to sign off on? A Pulitzer awaits the reporters and outlet who can tell the public.

Guarding a concentration camp isn't the kind of thing most people want to sign up for. Along with a racist effort to purge officers who aren’t white, military recruiting is going to tank and the ensuing national security crisis will be entirely self-inflicted www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

Worst. Episode. EVER.

30 years ago, you might have said the people running the show are behind the times. When they retire, there will be progress. But now we have a fascist regime trying to re-implement Jim Crow levels of segregation. And, without being asked, the ABA just clicked their heels together in assent.

In the 2 weeks since Lurie Children’s Hospital paused surgeries for transgender youth, @kschorsch.bsky.social has spoken with 10 patients or their parents about what it means for their lives for @wbez.org. They described disappointment, loss of hope and anger. www.wbez.org/health-medic...

Elon is out of his fuckin gourd man www.theverge.com/elon-musk/61...

Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who's done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I notice

He's going to see if he can undermine the 22nd Amendment next. He can sense that being a lame duck will weaken him.

Lol Trump wants a new Say No To Drugs campaign? I have an idea...

Musk: "My mind is a storm"

It’s been apparent for a ling time that there’s no possible way Trump leaves office again willingly. The plan is for him to some day die in office, and nothing Republicans have done since inauguration day suggests they’ll oppose this in any meaningful way.

"Donald Trump is constitutionally ineligible to run in 2028 and the text of the constitution is very clear about that" is a statement of fact, but "they want Trump to stay in power for life" is a statement of fact too.

People need to understand this: Trump did not leave office willingly the first time. If his health holds up, he will not leave office willingly this time. He is not joking about serving more than two terms.

CUT TO: It’s stolen. It’s all gone. Donald doesn’t have any idea where all that gold is, or who could have possibly stolen it. A real caper.

It’s absolutely a Nazi salute. But note how weak it is. Whether it’s sincere or “ironic” (and that doesn’t make a difference), he doesn’t quite have the cobbles to do it vigorously. He does it like grandma struggling to put her shawl on a hook.

Reminder that a month ago Politico did a puffy soft focus interview with Steve Bannon, who today literally threw up a Nazi salute at CPAC. Inexcusably terrible editorial judgment at the time and looks even worse now.

I can’t just sit by and pretend I’m not seeing what I’m seeing So, like, the Nazis are in charge now huh? I literally just watched multiple WWII documentaries over the past few months. It’s not funny, it’s not a joke. Like WTF. Grandparents & ancestors who fought this rolling in their graves now

Bro is tripping balls.

Trump is much fonder of the world's most brutal autocrats than he is America's allies -- or the countries that *were* our allies before he retook power.

Kilmeade: “But that’s all Russia’s fault, Mr. President. Russia did the inv…” Trump: (ignores Kilmeade’s remark) Kilmeade: “But Mr. President, that’s all Vladimir Putin’s fault. Don’t you agree?” Trump: (ignores Kilmeade’s question) “And then Zelenskyy complains that he’s not in a meeting…”

new levels of cringe at CPAC

Whether in the courts or by way of pressure on the Trump Administration, DEMAND evidence of these claims of fraud and waste. You’d think Trump would be running to Congress & to court to show what they’ve found, and yet…crickets 🦗

This is such a great example of what its actually really important to bring the heat to elected Republicans: they are massively soft crybabies who will 100% come unglued when faced with even the slightest bit of pushback from voters.

People voted for this.

Normally the DNI and POTUS see each other regularly for intelligence reasons but Trump doesn’t do that stuff.

Trump's lies are imperious to fact-checking. This clip is from today.

Just want to publicly say a BIG thank you to @atrupar.com for all the amazing coverage he provides us with around the world. I appreciate how much effort goes into that. A vital info channel in these very challenging times. 👏👏👏

Shakedown politics: obey or I end you

lol what It’s about 160 million in 24 hours at peak. It’s a few dozen in a few minutes at a polling place. This not strenuous for a computer.

FOX NEWS: MSNBC said "Bondi brings politics back to the AG office." They go after you for thinking it was a good idea to attend CPAC and record a podcast with Ted Cruz. BONDI: Well, I had a great time yesterday with Sen. Cruz. I recorded something for Benny Johnson if they want to see that also.

TRUMP: The NCAA has complied immediately. That's good. But I understand Maine -- is the governor of Maine here? JANET MILLS: Yeah I'm here TRUMP: Are you not gonna comply? JM: I'm going to comply with state and federal law T: You better do it bc you're not gonna get any federal funding at all

the “computer expert” who owns X — where hundreds of millions of posts are sent a day — thinks computers can only do a few things at a time
