I have seen people talk about it although it doesn't have it's own specific channel.

That's great, if you have any questions feel free to ask and if you haven't checked it out already the audio programmer discord is really good. lots of super helpful people there.

life is short and joy is fleeting.. but dammit he's sold me on it and now i want to be able to read these runes. especially cos an earlier slide has suggested that they might all be named after different birds

But writing this stuff in procedural code is always more boilerplate than expression of intent mainly because of the lack of rank polymorphism. So yeah. BQN it is. See you in 2026.

And to really explore this space we need a modular system where the modules are partial processors..things like masking with the Euclidean algorithm or a Xenakis sieve.. arbitrary ratios from scala tunings, not just harmonic series etc...

The reasoning is that most of additive synthesis work can be expressed as pairs of arrays - one for partial ratios and one for partial amplitudes.
I strongly believe there's a lot of unexplored space past where Razor and Lazerbass currently exist...

Haha. The birds man, the birds. He has a really good video all about that. I'll find it later.

Also i keep thinking that all this partial processing stuff would be a perfect fit for a language like APL or BQN, but that's another thing to learn, if they even have any kind of C/C++ interop for integrating with audio code.

You can explain that to me when you've built it, cos it sounds very interesting but i dont know much beyond its cards with some code on?

The thing is, i have most of the synth done (in fact im on currently on the 4th prototype version)...but it always ends up with bugs needing fixing, or waiting for Cycling 74 to fix bugs i find in Max/MSP.
So someone please make one that does everything i need. thanks.

The idea - Fell / Lazar style additive synths but based around microtuned partial scaling, e.g. Harp of New Albion 5 limit tuning. add blastbeats and some kind of black metal / shoegaze type guitar.
Noisy but catchy. Odd but melodic. Atmospheric but IN YOUR FACE LIKE A CAN OF MACE BABY.
