Not discounting silent infection btw. But unfortunately it's a win-win for producers to not vaccinate since they get paid for culling, while vaccinating could hurt exports (per your nbc link and others)

Looks like producers are responsible for vaccinating their own flocks, but if it's the gov, this seems like something that could be virtually eliminated with appropriate biosecurity protocols.

Nice, I reported it but I can't imagine they got to my report that fast.

Nah I just missed the constant validation of all the hot strangers who are extremely real and extremely into me. They even want to know my birthday and my mother's maiden name!

Yeah. Difficult to escape.
Fwiw I think bluesky has said they're not using it to train, but you can be sure openai, deepseek, meta, and others will, including on accounts with the "don't share with users who aren't logged in" setting (as it's only protected by the honor system)

Someone should become public service and do what's needed

Unfortunately, due to the open nature of Bluesky, you should assume your data here is also being used for AI training, research, marketing/data mining, and other purposes.
Even grok can train on Bluesky data—though maybe it won't, as elon is trying to make grok more RW.

I haven't even had one kind soul offer to make me a T-shirt of what I just said
Or tell me to get in an oven
My life feels so empty now

I don't think most are worried about journalists, apart from their survival. I wish them the best, preferably at an institution that isn't deeply compromised by leadership.

Like this is a bad false dichotomy that makes me suspicious of your broader claim that we really oughta just forget about the egregious mistakes of the mainstream media and just be thankful that we have a working media at all. That isn't the standard.

I'd suggest anyone respond with this in mind
And don't feel bad about bending the truth with an evil algo

I'll never reward a business for annoying me, or for disrespecting users w intentionally bad design/enshittification
plus, funneling people who get there via emojis to a $100 plan without even mentioning the basic plan is gross
writing this is honestly making me rethink using discord at all.

First, we need laws to constrain those who kill with an algorithm. But those guys paid off the law so they can execute with no consequences. Which worked for a little while, but may not be sustainable.

and like...are you ready to keep up with the grueling manual labor (while fasting!)? or are there other things you want to do with your life?

just trade. just kale. just can. just backyard. just starve.

It is too hard to microwave a bowl of soup some days. The concept of working for free, doing all that labor and losing all that time, to grow a handful of ingredients that will last 2-3 days before going bad (as all fresh foods do… plus frozen food never tastes right afterward) is insanity to me.

1 sounds quite difficult! At least if there's Discover-like personalization for non-followed posts. But I haven't really played with feeds, so maybe not.
Iirc, the disco algo isn't public (don't take my word on that though), which would unfortunately make piggybacking more difficult.

Man, I need that for politics and sports. Would the source be the subscriber's follows?
Was thinking I just need a positivity alt so I can abuse mute words—no big deal if an alt accidentally blocks some things I care about. Cuz on main, I gotta be careful w multipurpose words like house, state, rep
