Turn it off. Stop using it. Turn it off. Stop. Stop. Stop. If every time I was wrong about something, a gallon of precious water was boiled into the sky, my neighbourhood got polluted and someone lost their job, people would stop asking me things.

Fussily, I hope never to spend another summer east of the Rockies.

My chance for ordination has finally arrived. 🧀

Timeline cleanse (while I finishing balling up my snotty hanky): smol bunny contemplating stick on the trail cam at dawn.

From a Newsweek story today about detentions during routine ICE check-ins, a detail that made me (with my personal history) just weep: “children detained with fathers may face family separation, as there are no facilities equipped to house fathers with children.” (1/ )

In sweeter news, tiny-plum season has begun.

So in one hour today, the head of the largest labour union in CA (with 750,000 members) was assaulted & detained by ICE—& news reports emerged that Trump aims to cut all grant $ to the UC & CSU systems, which together employ 330,000 people & educate another 750,000. That's 1.8M very angry folks.

By the way, Trump’s budget proposal would cut 90% of federal funding for Native American tribal colleges, forcing most to close. So when we talk about attacks on US higher ed, I think it’s pretty important that this — not Harvard — be front & centre.

Ever wanted to know the amount of profanity flowing through Bluesky at any one moment? Me neither, but I still ended up making this: SwearSky, a flow of foul language uttered by Bluesky users. ⚠️ NSFW ⚠️ as it literally yells swear words at you.

Up on the big hill, the seasonal creek is quite dry now. But the fresh wild mint is growing happily there — just the thing for trail runner’s mouth.

Reflecting on how much of my low mood this week has simply been about June beginning with every morning shut down by low cloud/fog. The sun comes out once I’m shut up in an office. Such a simple, biologically determined critter I am! But trying to glow even in the grey & rocky places.

So my chickens are probably better at recognising humans than I am. Back to feeling inadequate…!

Been feeling really inadequate & low this week & someone has just done the most amazingly kind & meaningful, unexpected thing for me. I think I need to curl up quietly for a bit & just cuddle my wonder & gratitude.
