Begging for money to be released is just the start of FAFO for Republican Senators and congressmen. They’ll soon be finding out how tariffs on steel and aluminum affect manufacturing jobs and how deporting immigrants affects agriculture - and their approval ratings going into the midterms . . .

Musk claimed there are people in the Social Security system who are 150 years old When exactly did they get their Social Security accounts? If they’re 150, they were born in 1875 and would have been 62 when the first SS taxes were collected in 1937 - or maybe: www.threads.net/@nervoussilk...

JD was obviously a DEI admission at Yale Law School. There were several of those when I graduated from there in the 1980s. About 3/4 of my class was male & almost all of it was white - but some of it wouldn’t even qualify for acceptance at a community college. That was his ‘hardship’ contingent.

Here in the U.S. there are similar pushes for more nuclear plants, both big and small. And it’s a similar coalition of ‘pro-growth’ supporters that have been saying ‘drill baby drill’ for the fossil fuel industry for decades. Can’t they find a harmless unnecessary project to waste money on?

Nuclear energy is a dying industry - relying on subsidies and bailouts to keep the money flowing Now it’s spreading the myth that it’s helpful against climate change To join us tomorrow 2/11 for a webinar on the real impact of nukes on the climate, register here: www.mobilize.us/fww/event/74...

Congressional Democrats showed too much belief in our constitutional system & didn’t take the urgent actions that were needed to avoid the current crisis The ‘Citizens United’ decision allowing unlimited money in politics & the collapse of antitrust enforcement made this situation almost inevitable

For people in the northeast who are turning up their thermostats & hoping that global warming has just reversed itself, here’s a reminder that climate change doesn’t just happen where YOU live. Warmest January on record!

Gov Hochul announced a push to add new nuclear to the NYS power plan. That will that increase our utility bills (already has) & hobble our fight against climate change. To attend a webinar Feb 11th 6-7:00 pm about why nuclear isn’t a climate solution, sign up here: www.mobilize.us/fww/event/74....

Their petty vendettas have consequences for people who are far removed from their targets. Reagan attacked the FAA for his own political agenda - but Trump & Musk have taken that to an entirely new level.

Trump wants to distract you from the fact that he gutted the Aviation Safety Committee and ousted the FAA administrator last week. Don’t let him.

It’s obvious that Trump doesn’t have the ability or the requisite interest to come up with all the executive orders he’s issued - so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the folks who are actually behind them. Thiel might be number one. He also has an option on JD Vance as a presidential-replacement.

Hey reporters who follow me: here’s an important victory for the relentless citizen activists living near the highly contaminated Santa Susana Field Lab (near LA) which tested rockets and nuclear stuff throughout the Cold War: accidents, spills, fires, open-air burning, toxic run off. Link in reply.

In light of the great news (see my previous post) that Boeing just LOST their stupid lawsuit and will need to deal with the poisonous run-off from the radioactive Santa Susana Field Lab (btwn Simi Valley and LA), I’m re-upping this amazing story by @carmio.bsky.social www.sehn.org/sehn/2021/10...

Lawler also supports Trump’s efforts to take over Greenland: “New York Reps Mike Lawler and Claudia Tenney are among about a dozen Republican House members sponsoring a new bill to let President-elect Donald Trump negotiate the purchase of Greenland . . . “ NOT a moderate!

I worked for decades as a financial services attorney trying to make sure that info given to the SEC was accurate. If Trump is successful in replacing the agency’s staff with climate science deniers, that won’t matter. Many businesses face climate change risks but won’t be required to report them.

I know people are seeing this in a lot of places, but I hope folks will continue reposting it. Trump laughably criticized Bishop Budde for bringing politics into religion (does he think he has a copyright on that?) JD & his wife’s obvious discomfort suggests even more trouble in paradise.

I wonder how many environmental whistleblowers will have the courage to speak out under Trump 2.0. And will traditional media have the courage to print their reports? The current flurry of capitulation is not encouraging.
