GERMAN POST ABOUT GERMAN LANGUAGE Im Deutschen gibt es ja keine saubere Übersetzung für "eldritch", am ehesten "gruselig" oder "unheimlich" aber das hat nicht das gleiche Gewicht. Ich würde "entrisch" vorschlagen. Ein altertümliches Wort mit ähnlichem Klang und ähnlicher Bedeutung:

Something interesting about the Borg is that being a collective turns them evil. Like people are just people before being assimilated, some good, some bad - the collective of all of them is pretty staunchly evil. Perhaps a dig at the Soviets, it was the 90s after all, but still thought provoking.
