I’ll make this a post; Listening to a book IS reading. Sometimes it isn’t. If you’re talking about having consumed the book, these are basically the same. study: www.jneurosci.org/content/39/3... This distinction ONLY matters when you specifically talk about reading vs listening (🧵 1/3)

US politics is so baffling to me from the outside perspective; a duopoly of right wing parties, one’s an anaemic demon, the other — basically Tartarus.

“You call everyone you disagree with a nazi” perhaps if there weren’t so many nazis to disagree with in a renaissance of fascism I could spend more time calling people I disagree with something like readability insulators for setting reading text in helvetica or something else minute

I forget to appreciate heavy sunscreens until it gets cold. I hate the look, but they do keep the face warmer and protect me from the 12 minutes of sunlight

Alternate (petty) idea for US democracy (current is clearly dumb): Elect 10 candidates on popular vote, and for round 2, you only vote on policy, candidates are anonymous.

I wonder what reason might there be that right wing lunatics are coming over from xitter. Surely they create a wonderful atmosphere with one another that they’d want to stay in or bask in.

I love it when someone explains a bad decision as ‘yeah it’s bad but the reason is-‘ So, it’s bad, yes? I think so too! A reason leading to a bad outcome doesn’t prove the outcome is okay, it proves the reason is bad. We need more exceptions. everywhere
