Ooh interesting!! I was thinking doing that but also even when watching random things in my TL I end up picking up words ! 😂

I do practice active listening ziti Netflix/youtube and language reactor ! I take down notes of words and grammar points I don’t know/ want to review with the sentence it was in in the show/ video. If I don’t feel like doing this I put the words I don’t know in Anki ☺️

Guess who’s knitting and watching “my happy marriage” lol

Thanks for your answer ! It made me change my mind about tracking or not my immersion. As I mostly engage in passive immersion I wrongly thought it “didn’t count” (even if I know it DOES count, I couldn’t wrap my head around it lol). I think the time to track all this has come !! Thanks again !☺️

So, as a French native who knows the difference between a "pingouin" and a "manchot", I sometimes enjoy telling people that "pingouins" can fly.

Hi !! This is great work !! I was wondering, what do you usually track under the "immersion tag" ? Active listening only ? Both active and passive listening ? Good luck for your study and have a good trip in advance !!!

❄️I tried to take notes on Egyptian arabic but I thought that learning grammar was dumb as I lack vocabulary and can't form basic sentences. I can't really introduce myself either. ❄️I straight up gave up on Malagasy as I mostly need my mom to learn (as there are very few ressources) but

❄️24/04 : ❄️So today I had several things to do. I did some language related activities but it was complicated as the two languages I had to work on today are my 2 languages with almost ZERO RESSOURCES (aka Egyptian Arabic and Malagasy)

❄️23/02 ❄️Did nothing much as I’m feeling down lately but for some reason I did ONE WHOLE HOUR of Duolingo in Japanese because I was in the demotion zone in the league and I got scared. So I did a lot of legendary lessons and ended up top 5 of the week (screenshot was before I went down)😂😂

❄️22/02 ❄️Did two lessons of German on Busuu. I learnt how to say in which city I live and what language I can speak ! Need to review it too. ❄️One lesson of Japanese on Duolingo

❄️ 21/02: I took it easy on this day. I think I was tired or not feeling good. ❄️Did some German on Busuu. I learnt about saying where one comes from and where one lives. But I need to review it ! ❄️Anki reviews. Nothing to say. ❄️Did one lesson of Japanese on Duolingo.

❄️ Did a bit of Busuu in Russian too ! I’m still trying to figure out where to resume my learning in the timeline. I did three lessons about daily life, learning to express hunger and also a dialog in a train. ❄️Did my kanji garden reviews as usual !

❄️18/02: ❄️ Practiced German a lot on this day ! I learnt about how it ask someone how they’re doing and how to answer to someone asking “how are you”. Only the basics tho, I don’t know a lot of states and emotions for the time being. Did a lot of German Duolingo too.

I also learnt that going back on a language after quite some time can be daunting. But I have to be gentle with myself ! That’s it for today !! See you tomorrow!!

Anyway ! Today was a lesson. Even if the day starts off bad, there’s still a way to manage things and make it better, or at least navigate the day and say “I actually did things today”.

I also am thinking about going back on todo mate (a shared todo list app) in order to have a todo list and also accountability buddies but I have none there… :(

❄️ Thoughts of the day : I am thinking about going back on Busuu. For Russian and German. Maybe other languages but the problem is I have to actively search which unit is good to resume my learning by hand. But the site is good from what I know so…

put them in Anki. (30 min~) ❄️Did my Anki reviews ! Still doing fine I wrote my daily 65 words on 65words.com . The prompt was “What did you do over the weekend” and my entry is -I think- horrendous. I HAVE to review my conjugations and usage for past tenses. I think I used to have an app for that.

❄️I did my usual Kanji Garden drills. Still fine on this one, so grateful that I found this website. 🥹 ❄️I watched an episode of a Spanish show called “Machos Alfa” not my usual tv show style but it’s funny imo. I took some words I didn’t know and

in Russian, it’s about tea 🫖 because I love tea !! I also did my daily Duolingo lessons and put some Russian words I’d like to remember and use in Anki.

by categories… Which is impractical imo but… I really like the website so that’ll do I think. I just have to put more efforts in order to notice what I need to review in the languages and where to resume. But I did some grammar on a weird and old looking website (still fire tho) I also wrote a post

❄️17/02 : Another calm day ! I was a bit depressed today but I still managed to do what was written on my schedule! ❄️I tried writing some Russian grammar in a notebook like I usually do with my other languages but the only ressource I like doesn’t really put the lessons in logical order but rather

I think the solution is to take random vocab and verbs and decline/conjugate them. The habits will come back. I trust myself and my brain. I had very good grades in russian class so I KNOW I can do it.

@gojosamu.bsky.social tema le peu qu’il me reste de mon russe là c’est honteux

Okay, I just did it and it's AWFUL because I was rushed and also because I need to revise my past tenses. Omg i'm actually ashamed people are gonna read that LMFAOOOOO
comment in response to post
But I know I have some reflexes ingrained in me. Plus I began German this year and it works approx the same so it’s ok, I can do it.
comment in response to post
Lmaooo welp that was an honest answer ! No but I often see people doing this trick : leaning a language with another one that they understand quite well in order to deepen their understanding of it

LMAO the savings things is real but it works !! (also i'm a HUGE stationery fan so if you want to show it off, my DMs are open 🤭)
