Dad loves photography. He was next to me scrolling through a Facebook photography page he's been following for years when he told me he wasn't sure if one of the photos was AI-generated. We ended up going through the last 20 posts to check. 20 out of 20 were AI-generated. We're so cooked.

Last night on Critical Role there was a technical rules question and between player knowledge and trying to find an answer in the book Matt also tried to Google the spell interactions and started giving that ruling before like 10 seconds later realizing it was AI fakery that was totally wrong.

My theory, for which I have very little support: the folks who founded NaNo did it out of love for writing and the fun of writing together. It got huge. Great! But eventually the founders moved on. The new folks don't love writing, they want to make $$$
