What’s the difference between making Cabinet appointments based upon their level of sycophancy and hiring them because they are inept?

Helping starving or sick people around the world is the right thing to do, but it’s also just good for our reputation, and it benefits us if the rest of the world doesn’t despise us. American leaders used to understand the strength of soft power. medium.com/@j.land8491/...

They see USAID as an easy propaganda win against the libs. Their callousness concerning the short term consequences and ignorance of how this cost effective soft-power will negatively impact American interests for decades to come surprises me not.

I served 26 yrs on active duty, retired as a colonel, 13 yrs flying the line, 5 yrs in the Pentagon, 5 yrs in NATO, 3 yrs at US embassy Budapest. Gen Brown is very popular. This will not go down well with those in uniform. Trump (and Hegseth) don’t appreciate the consequences of what they’ve done.

Yes & no. If we pay too little, we will only get rich people like Trump or Musk running, &/or people who corruptly monetize it like former Senator Menendez. (But yes, they need to make less than my teacher’s salary 😉)

It is nice to see abysmal approval ratings, but it is a LITTLE LATE. The time for understanding the situation and deciding if you like it or not came and went in November. He is exactly who we all knew he was, and he is doing much of what was the plan literally written out in detail (project 2025).

1. Make every single threat public knowledge. 2. Get a new job.

I would feel sorry for the level of emasculation these guys suffer from if the consequences of their spineless sycophancy was not so grave. Why is it that GOP women, while still far too small in number, are more willing to be at least somewhat principled?

I could not agree more 😡 They so want to wear the trappings of power that they have ceded their actual power. Absolutely pathetic 🤬

Unlike her fellow GOP “leaders” in Congress she occasionally tells us how much she disagrees with Trump’s ignorant &/or evil agenda items before betraying America and rubber stamping them.

Susan Collins is a coward. But we only know this for sure because she keeps letting us know that she actually does know better. The vast majority of her fellow GOP “leaders” keep mum about how much they disagree with Trump before rubber stamping his ignorant &/or evil agenda items.
