That's all well and good for you, but I used to rock and roll all night and party every day. Then it was every other day... now I'm lucky to find half an hour a week in which to get funky.

While inventing a robot toy for them to play with sounds like a great idea, the idea of equating the food coming from you to their hunting+killing instincts sounds like it will lead to them eating your face off while you sleep

Guess I'm a distinct minority here, as someone who travels for work a lot--never expect the model to be accurate + need more than two beds I book two rooms; said not to ask for particulars but when I'm rushed or stranded (been stranded in Chile, China, Alaska, Bhutan, etc.) I'm happy for any room!

Living through two world wars and a depression will change your perspective; today's repubs would've voted for Lindbergh and MacArthur

Think I had a cassette of him relating précis of famous novels -- prime stocking stuffer material in the '80s. The only part of it I remember was his ending for Moby Dick: "...and they were all dead...except for the Fish and Ish".

Yeah but the 'wrong people' initiated the Juneteenth holiday. Had a bunch of white abolitionist New Englanders started a '19th of June' celebration in 1865 we would have been celebrating it all along

Well a slight mea culpa in a way because it did engender my fear of being stuck on a stalled/stopped mass transit vehicle with a busker

Funnily enough, Charles was given chance after chance after chance, too...(but then it was Cromwell's exhumed head that was hung on the side of a building for over twenty years)

? Where are the 'complications' here? Uneducated, uninformed, religious, bigoted...that's Trump's bread-and-butter.

No it's completely true! People watched this horror show on NBC called 'The Apprentice' years ago and it opened some sort of portal and...here we are!

Everybody does. Their own work, not yours. See, I even hate that first sentence for being confusing.

Had a gf in San Francisco with a cat who was very territorial (the cat that is--a feral rescue). Whenever a stranger had entered my gf's apartment the cat would meow at me in a certain way--I'd ask "Who was here?" Told her that I could smell a different scent--never told her about the narc-cat.

Live it up. Soon the Kennedy center will just be "Cats", "Starlight Express", and armed services band performances

No they're too busy cleaning hotel rooms and picking crops--building materials will soon be too expensive so construction will slow down

Wow I didn't know that. Good try, I guess. I never use LLMs so I just assume everything is incorrect.

No the real news is Alan Arkin had a same-sex marriage in the '50s. Great comic actor and he broke barriers.

Didn't know he was such a hoarder...but the 'wait, what?' moment for me was that people didn't know was gay? Thought it was common knowledge but maybe it's one of those retroactive memory rewrites one has.

When going to school in Maine, to visit my gf in Providence I'd just drive keeping the Atlantic on my left, eventually I'd get there; easy to find her since there were so few Jennifers in New England in them days--this type of Atlantic Seaboard travel was known as 'LORB' for 'Left Out, Right Back'
