In rest of the world research governance news, our program officers specifically direct us to ensure/highlight PI gender and diversity balance. So the country that western libertarians think they want is about 2 weeks away from doing a Bradbury into becoming a leader in research equity

Decadent westerners, that sound was more than 2 billion people knocking off for the next 5 to 14 days for Chinese New Year. Welcome the rise of Hydra! 👉🏽 🐍

Almost 20 years in and about 90% of my work boils down to studying a respiratory pathogen in an organism that doesn't have lungs. Actually easier to explain to my 7 yo than to some adults

Great potential colleagues and facilities. Would have considered applying myself if this was 4-5 years ago. And hey, by the time you start in 2026, the NIH might exist again!

Got anyone that you would want to banish to rainy London then sweltering Singapore with a risk of giving themselves a shigella infection? Exchange program PhD Project with me and Vincenzo Torraca on page 10 #zebrafish at @astar-idlabs.bsky.social www.kcl.ac.uk/study-legacy...

Also about having a creative streak for stuff like signing that DEIAtruth email address for scientific vendor email lists

A midwinter walk around town. It's 27 degrees, C not F. Apart from the dragon and dinosaur zones, describing Toa Payoh as beige during the day would be insulting to the colour brown, but at night it sparkles with CNY decorations! #singapore

Kicking off the 2025 Singapore Tuberculosis Symposium with historical perspectives. Did you know before Brompton made bikes they were better known for crushing TB on the other side of the world?
