They don't want to teach history so they can repeat it.

I got Linux running in a PDF file using a RISC-V emulator. PDFs support Javascript, so Emscripten is used to compile the TinyEMU emulator to asm.js, which runs in the PDF. It boots in about 30 seconds and emulates a riscv32 buildroot system. linux.doompdf.dev/linux.pdf github.com/ading2210/li...

The book is so good, I made it to the Boolean section! Will see how much I can do tomorrow! :)

I tried to code golang most of the day, went well, but since I used ChatGPT mostly and changed the output to my desire, I lacked a lot of basics..... Tomorrow I'm gonna go back to the book "Writing an Interpreter in Go". This way at least I learn more basics. I can only learn more :)

"if you love something, let it go" is about domain names

A little bit of cleanup for the next few weeks and I'll be open sourcing all my projects I work on, one by one. I'm done with locking up my projects on a private GitHub repository. I see more benefits in open source than closed source. I just want to get over the anxiety of open sourcing projects.

Nice, this seems to look ok for me :D using valibot + custom string representation (thanks claude), solid-start, shadcn-solid-ui. Now I might be able to focus on implementing more the tasks :)

happy “I’m gonna start a side project” holidays

How do you guys connect 2 parts of a project into one? I am trying to make a workflow automation project, but I am struggling with connecting the "task-runners" with a database schema and the basic main application. The application should be able to run self-hosted and also run on AWS...

Been a long time I made a PR :D Made my first PR to SST!

Lately I have been coding like 2-3 hours if I have time, but because I did sooo many hours beforhand on my projects most changes need little effort and a lot of thinking. I am having fun but would love to put more energy into them :D

openauth works really well with sst. took me a couple minutes to change some files and add a few lines of code, troubleshoot a redirect_uri issue I had (skill issue). happy it works.

I was almost every day watching a stream on Twitch, thats crazy!

openauth beta is here you're gonna wanna watch this video more info in thread www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKKx...

It's a real shame watching society optimizing itself for fast money over sustainability.

I have not done any advent of code yet, I'm working at retail since Monday. Did I miss anything exciting?

The first day after almost 1.5 years of looking for work, I went to work. Sadly not as a software engineer but at the grocery store nearby. Already worked overtime 😂. At least I can pay bills now. Hopefully I can still find a dev job in the meanwhile.

just sayin'

I've completed The Reindeer Have Had Enough - Advent of TypeScript 2024 adventofts.com/events/2024/1

I like how I wrote this, now I can build my own ETL stuff, however I want to use it. The typescript code behind it is readable, but also has a ton of generics, lol. Will test this more and show different ideas I have using it :)

Even tho I am using SST to build my current App, I am also trying my best to write the project in such a way to opt out of it, for self-hosting without SST. If SST manages in future to deploy/host projects on homelab servers, that would be incredible! But that's more a far future thing I guess.

Soon I gotta learn/practice how to write cli apps that authenticate with an API (that I also wrote). Webapp authentication is easy. CLI-Apps?? No clue :D

Do we already have people impersonating others on this app? Just to be sure, in case people change their username to a domain, reserve the old username too. And maybe post a single post, stating if its an actual user from the right account holder.

DataTable and DatePicker are done! 🥳 Only thing remaining for now is the Sidebar page and some blocks related stuff. 😁 #buildinpublic

Open source can be both collaborative and competitive. When a new project shows up, it competes with existing solutions, but that doesn't prohibit collaboration, even between competing projects and ideas.

I can't state how crucial Vinxi and Nitro were in making @TanStack.com Start. Come read about how it was a game changer! "Why TanStack Start is Ditching Adapters" tanstack.com/blog/why-tan...

It's done. Now it’s your turn, Oracle. We’ve submitted a formal petition to cancel the JavaScript trademark: it is generic, Oracle has abandoned it, and Oracle committed fraud on the USPTO during the last trademark renewal. It's time to #FreeJavaScript. deno.com/blog/deno-v-...

Arcane Season 2 was incredible, 11/10! Riot knows how to catch the viewers, I was blown away.

Here's some secret bluesky-only info: This is being filed with the USPTO TTAB tomorrow Don't share!
