Zelenskyy would be signing the death warrant for Ukraine on these terms. threadreaderapp.com/thread/18915...

Gratz to Putin on his promotion to president of the USA.

Rachel Reeves looks to have been a bit silly but for journalists of a certain age to profess outrage at creative expenses claims turns hypocrisy in to an art form. When I started out, one legendary character was reputed to have put a son through Eton via bogus receipts. But my favourite story...

So far, Hesgeth says US policy is surrender to Russian aggression, selling out Ukraine and US interests for nothing. They don’t even make a case for one of those quid pro quos Trump is fond of. What is the US, or Trump, getting from Russia after these gifts? Certainly not peace.

“Have a day off. Get down to London, where there’ll be a fleet of our tractors just off the production line, waiting for you to drive them to Westminster. Oh, and while you’re there remember to protest about the £500 million tax bill we are trying to avoid” “Will do Mr Bamford”.

The only thing that prevents me from falling into utter despair at the current infallibility of these monstrous fuckers Putin, Netanyhu, Musk, Trump, Farage etc... is that one day they'll get fucked good and hard by the unlubed dildo of consequences.

Commonside tip in Alvanley, a long-abandoned waste site has been slowly leaching pollutants into the nearby Foxhill Brook for decades... The brook runs into the Mersey nearby, where pollutants such as PCBs can be concentrated in the food chain. A public inquiry is needed.

#RecipeOfTheDay borrows gratefully from the Dutch Christmas canon. That’s to say, this is my take on their glorious almond pastries – and, don’t worry, these Banket Bars use shop-bought puff pastry, which makes them alluringly do-able! www.nigella.com/recipes/bank...

Should Sunday Times Number 1 bestselling books about the crisis in the criminal justice system be something you, or a loved one, would enjoy having pumped into your ears, the audiobook is currently on some crazed offer. £3.99. Or 0.56p per minute. Insanity. www.amazon.co.uk/The-Secret-B...

I lost this ring in the toilets in Bounce in Farringdon tonight. It’s hardly worth anything, but it’s a ring my dad gave my mum and it’s priceless to me now that he’s not here. It’s gold, with a diagonal band of green stones on it. If you find it can you please get it back to me

Very clever from Nicola Jennings in @theguardian.com

A must read thread… though I suspect many of those who follow me on various social media platforms will also be somewhat aware. Micro targeting persuadibles was also in play during the 2016 UK Brexit Referendum. We need a public inquiry about that to know more:

Good morning, #CoffeeClub ☕️ ♥️

Clarkson is the person farmers should actually be angry with. By piling into farming as a tax dodge, he and other greedy millionaires brought this on.

What gets to me most is that the UK government enabled foreign states to loot our essential infrastructure, milking it for profit and leaving it in ruins. Those states must think we're insane. The Chinese government would never let us walk in and seize its assets. But we've let it do just that.

What part of : If you don't pay your taxes You can't get decent services do the fucking farmers or the wealthy not fucking understand ??? Nobs.

Useful background to the farming row. I’ve picked out three interesting paras below and the £3m threshold is a fiction for most as I have explained yesterday. Overall a very good read bit.ly/3YTnkmI

BREAKING: Rachel Reeves and Environment Secretary Steve Reed have released a statement ahead of the farmers protest today saying they "recognise the strength of feeling expressed" but need to ensure the "most valuable farms pay their fair share”

A really good article by Will Hutton that sets things into perspective. 👇

I listen to a 20 year old farmer on the radio yesterday evening, her parents had bought he a £2million farm and she's up in arms about the IHT on farms. That's £2million unearned income, of course she should pay tax on it! #PoliticsLive
