So I’ve lived in Japan for a few billion years and I’m way too old to get drafted, but there was a point I started wondering if living in Japan gets you out of it, or if the govt can (and will) compel citizens living abroad to go to America to be drafted

Uhh I dunno. I want to redo the design but it’s been far too long since I’ve seen an actual result in hardware on screen that I’m starting to worry. Maybe I just go with what I have, and constantly apologize to everyone everywhere about not making as good a thing as I now know how to?

This is the absolute truth. To do anything else is user hostile. Reminds me of how YouTube has stated forcing AI generated voiceovers on random Japanese videos. This plays in Japanese for me but “English” for random coworkers without asking

Real solution to your Switch problem: someone should mod a PSP to have a larger screen and include some clever AI upscale hardware.

I can’t prove this, but from Nintendo’s wording, they made it sound like the system language is locked to Japanese, but they don’t have any control over what a game does. The game decides what text to render, the game data contains the fonts. The wildcard here is whether there is a TRC against it
