Realising that the average numbers probably make little sense, I asked Chat GPT based on poll data of 4 pollsters Allensbach, Insa, FG Wahlen and Emnid , and taking the error maring into account, 10 randomised estimates of the outcome. Based on the most current poll results, this is the outcome.

I asked ChatGPT to give me its best estimate on the election outcome, based on the latest polls on Wahlrecht.de, a 1-3% error margin, and taking into account the results of 2021 and 2017 assuming they reflect some underlying voters' loyalties. Based on this, the FDP would surprise on the upside.

Mathias Döpfner has his very own view on current geopolitics, says it’s “almost funny” to be under friendly fire in the US and loves the FT. Great interview by Laura Pitel. on.ft.com/41l2Aqj

That escalated quickly.

Apart from the statistics, our deep dive into the sorry state of Germany's railways infrastructure comes with some mind-boggling details. Who would have thought that infrastructure built under Kaiser Wilhelm II that survived WW2 might have to be replaced at some point?

In my interview with @financialtimes.com published today I explained my current thinking about the @ecb.europa.eu ’s monetary policy and gave some personal reflections on the upcoming update of our monetary policy strategy. Let me briefly summarise the main points in a 🧵. 1/16

“In Washington, there's a new sheriff in town,” US Vice President JD Vance said last week in Munich. Sadly the new sheriff is evidently out of his mind. www.ft.com/content/dc98...

Olaf Scholz mocked British railways over “broken tracks and bad trains”, claiming that "nothing works any more” in the UK. Turns out: Germany rail problems have become so bad that Deutsche Bahn long-distance service is less punctual than even the worst operator in Britain. www.ft.com/content/d3b6...

If the US admissions is serious (and I fear is its), Europe’s answer sadly needs to be dramatic rearmament using European arm makers, and then canceling the treaties over military bases in Europe. on.ft.com/4kdpEij

Marvelous trolling by China……

Yalta is not the only unsettling historic parallel to Trump’s dealings with Russia over Ukraine. The other one is the Treaty of Versailles. German delegation was not allowed to take part in negotiations but only called in to sign at the end. This time, Ukraine & Europe may be in that position.

According to my esteemed colleagues Max Seddon and @christopherjm.ft.com, we might be heading to a modern day version of Yalta. What a time to be alive. www.ft.com/content/2bf2...
