Kinda wild... The song 'Singin' in the Rain' made it's debut, 20+ years before the movie with the same title, in the 1929 'The Hollywood Revue' which is also in the public domain this year.

This episode was my introduction to MPFS when it was broadcast on our local PBS station in the early '80s. I recorded it (on Betamax) and replayed it over and over to my friends 📺

I love creating playlists on Spotify (a lil' too much?). Just re-created one today for The Beatles 'Reel Music' compilation Capitol Records released in '82. Also made an 'expanded version'
My favorite is a series I created that's inspired by Andy Cowan's book 'B-Side: A Flipsided History of Pop'.

Still have my ticket stubs 🎟️🎟️.
This one was kinda special to me. My dad took me to see them (w/The Romantics) at Louisville Gardens in January of 1984. Wow! $11.50 per ticket. Super cheap! 🎧
