2/2 “There is very little truth to the old refrain that one cannot legislate equality. Laws not only provide concrete benefits, they can even change the hearts of men – some men, anyhow – for good or evil.”

I grew up in the NYC area and remember watching WOR. Loved watching Marx Brothers and Laurel and Hardy.

Consolidate the disparate one-issue groups into a democratic vanguard. Elucidate a cohesive vision of democratic governance and society. Start in your local community and then reach out regionally. Fight for your principles and fight to advance them.

We must mobilize: legally and peacefully physically resist, write, help and aid those impacted, boycott businesses and economic engines of MAGA and the far right, run anti-MAGA in all elections, resist voter suppression, post flags, signs, and stickers everywhere.

We are looking for “someone” to stop the destruction: the courts, the Democratic Party, the press. But it is our government and collectively we must do it. We are not helpless, we have over 249 years of history behind us, we have the lives and commitments to freedom and sacrifices of our ancestors.
