Apart from the awesome technical work, the aesthetics of this renderer have something eerie and compelling that I can't quite put my finger on...

I'm enjoying drawing these little slimy #PixelArt foes for #GetKeyOpenDoor. I'm no artist, but at this resolution I feel like I can experiment within my limits. Gave the previous slime a red eye, to make it a little more menacing, and made it jump. #GameDev

As a child there were problems, secrets, puzzles in games that I had to sleep on. I would dream of solutions to try. I think many know this feeling? I tried to recreate that in Isles sometimes, even if some found it frustrating. Something's in the pipe that I hope will cause more puzzle dreams:

huge update: after days of systems work and bug fixes, world sim road travel is working! what we're looking at is the world sim caching all the paths for land travel, after which it can simulate thousands and thousands of agents for trade caravans, groups of pilgrims, companies of soldiers, etc.

When you find the bug breaking everything in sinister and non-sensical ways, and it was a seemingly innocuous change that was part of another feature...

more people need to give themselves the opportunity to be a jack of all trades when it comes to gamedev. go on and learn the music software to make the music. learn to code (even if poorly). do the art and animation yourself. you’ll get it to work! it’s liberating to see how much you can accomplish.
